Recently, I had the pleasure of a unique experience while visiting Madesimo, Italy.. a cooking class with a Michelin-star chef Stefano Masanti and then dining at his restaurant, Il Cantinone. The food was incredible, the service impeccable and the wine pairings by Raffaella, a professional sommelier made for an incredible evening as our last night in Italy! Thank you!

We decided to treat ourselves and booked dinner at Il Cantinone for the last night of our holiday. The decor is traditional and warm, not too bright at all (the management obviously acted on criticism from another trip advisor review!) and we were seated on a great table surrounded by other diners, so the atmosphere was lively. We were served... More

My friend had organised a weekend skiing and had eaten at the restaurant before. The restaurant was full but quickly accommodate us a group of 5 if we ate later which was no problem. We took the 5 taster course on the surprise menu which meant that the chef selected the courses. We asked for recommendations for the wine and... More

We ate at the restaurant as we were guests of the hotel. Each evening was wonderful... the chef is a genius and we were all amazed each night. The flavours were interesting and always very good and the service was brilliant. I highly recommend this restaurant, you will not be disappointed.

At the time of our visit, Il Cantinone was the No 1 restaurant on Trip Advisor so we thought we'd give it a try. It's actually a hotel restaurant although it has a separate entrance. The room itself is typically wood lined with chequered tablecloths so although it initially seems quite cosy, the lighting is very bright so it's like... More

The portions were too small for our habits, and even if they offer u 2 entry dishes...we were not completely satysfied at the end of the dinner. To get full you need to get a complete menu which will cost 55€ per person. However the cuisine is really unique, combining different tastes in new recepies and the good quality of... More

This is a magical place, hidden in one of the coldest valley of northern Italy, this restaurant will warm you up. Well when I think about a restaurant I try to prefer those structures that do offer food and techniques not easily reproduceable at home . At Il Cantinone you will find a chef and a staff those to describe... More

Bring your fat jeans if you stay in the hotel and eat here for 6 days. I thought the Anton had top chef honors for ski hotels until we stumbled upon Madesimo. The chef/ owner is a slow cooking master and his wife was finishing up her studies to become a sommelier ,every meal was an adventure. I had one... More
