Beautiful Tuscan setting

Spotted their small sign off SettaPonti and made a quick exit down the dirt road through vineyard to this surprisingly large restaurant with newer architecture. This is so worth a trip to this little mountain hideaway. Fabulous views....amidst olive trees and vineyards... We have been in Italy for 29 days and 4 different regions.. and this is the best meal we have had so far. We decided to have lunch there after visiting the beautiful town of Borro. Less than 10 minutes away, the atmosphere... More

Reading through the TA reviews I am dumbfounded as to how people could give this place a good review, much less a superlative one. We arrived on time, were escorted to our table, given menus and made our choices. As we discussed who was having what It appeared that we all had different menus. Unfortunately the one which most of... More

Our 6th visit to this restaurant in 3 years. We love to sit out on the terrace, which has a beautiful view of their olive grove and the countryside. The food is excellent and well presented. The service is excellent. Hope to return soon.

We ate here few times and had good experiences. In the summer the outside sitting is a must as is arriving in time to see the sunset. Great with kids as they can play safely amongst the olive trees. They make a good fiorentina steak and other meats. The duck was specially tasty. Good rizotto and gnocchi also. They use... More

Went there with my family for lunch on my 50th birthday. It was a near perfect long Tuscan lunch. The menu is semi-set in that you get the antipasti and then choose from a few primi piatti and then secondi piatti. The food is simple yet delicious. We were seated on a large patio with a stunning view of the... More

A compact but complete menu. Wednesday and Thursday 'Fritti' are added as an extra. The wine list is compact too and has something for all tastes and budgets. The Tuscan starters are either a selection of cold or warm dishes. We went for the warm ones. One dish is the bread soup. Delicious. We continued sharing several dishes so that... More

It's easy to understand why this osteria qualified for the Slow Food Osterie d'Italia Guide. Once you find the place (be patient, it's worth it), you will get everything you wished for. Delicious owners, authentic food that will delight the most demanding gourmets. We've been spending part of the year in Italy for over 12 years now and Osteria dell'Acquolina... More
