In Our travel guide was written to visit this place. It was't bad, but as good as written, no. The little fish, ok, but no more than that. I had the swordfish -last year I bought myself a part in the chiagga harbour Sicilie- and from the first bite I thought, last year was better. Rets of cooking, normal but... More

The location of this restaurant couldn't be more perfect - right on the beach at Matala. We were there at sunset as the sun sets over the sea. Good service, traditional music, even a round of Zorba's Dance. The mixed seafood menu for 2 offered a good variety of local fish with some veg. This was ~€28, maybe a little... More

The wait staff was awesome, my mother in law wanted vodka but they did not have it in their menu, they went out of their way and bought some for her, no extra charge. they had traditional Cretan food such as snails and greens, along with lamb and fish, everything was delicious. The view is the best in Matala, great... More

Sirtaki is our regular food stop when in Matala, this must be the 6th or 7th time we have dined here. The guy on the door greeted us politely and told us there were lots of tables upstairs if that is where we wanted to sit. In fact, we had the same table as two years ago, right by the... More

Place seemed ok, set menu was really good value. My food was pretty good. waiter was nice. My partner had the sardines, I thought that they smelt a bit "wrong", but I'm not a fish eater. Sadly I was right. Partner ill today with belly issues. Thus sorry, was going to give 4 stars, but could only have been the... More

There's some negative reviews for Sirtaki, but honestly we cannot complain aobut anything. The waiters are extrovert, but nothing we couldn't handle. We thought of it as a correct service. We were six and everyone was quite happy with their plates. We shared some pretty good starters. Especially the Fried Zucchini and the Calamares were perfect. Their mixed grill for... More

The waitresses were way to pushy at the entrance, yet we decided to give it a try. We ordered a spagett bolognese and a greek salad. The portions were very small and not fresh at all. Unfriendly and stressed staff who's only goal is to get you in the restaurant, once that was done, they didnt seem to care about the... More

Shopping one night the owner gave us a card for his restaurant Sirtaki suggesting we come and eat there. We smiled back and asked if he served Kleftiko since we had been looking for this dish for a while in vane. No, not tonight, but tomorrow if you comeback back, he replied. We took his card, went to the place... More

The multi-lingual menus, greeter on the door and attempt to be all things to all tourists could put you off. But underneath are friendly, helpful staff, stick with the tried and tested local fare and enjoy a good value bottle of wine and the views of the shore and caves and you can't go wrong. The bill won't be a... More
