Castel's cosy corner!

It's a cosy wee restaurant, with tables close together but not cramped. Pleasant atmosphere , and friendly staff. Lunchtime customers filled the place. A wee bit warm inside but the overhead fans were reasonably successful in keeping us cool. Parking was OK. Family run and well worth a visit if... read more

The restaurant is small and it was packed the night we went, they were turning people away so you need to book. They have the menu in English and the waiting staff were very helpful. Good food, reasonable prices and a real buzz. Fun experience

Very good family run, cassoulet is really good, better than some others with higher recomendations in this town, including by a tv series. Follow the locals, the best recommendation.

Less than a week after our first visit, we unexpectedly found ourselves back in Castelnaudary for lunch. The first time through, on a Thursday, Au Petit Gazouillis was closed. Tuesday? Open. A small sign along the main downtown drag in Castelnaudary points to Au Petit Gazouillis, tucked out of the way on a side street. It's a funky, family operation... More

Was a very good family run restuarent full of local people. Local produce, well cooked, good value, giant side salads were a meal in themselves, homemade cassoulet was very very good, will return here despite reviews claiming ather places better

A bit hidden but just off the north-west corner of the big square where the Tourist Office is located, and worth the effort of finding it. Very crowded at lunch-time even in March, and mostly with locals, always a good sign. Atmosphere "authentic" and cosy, service friendly. Being in Castelnaudary we had to go for the Cassoulet (several versions offered)... More

I first visited this restaurant over a year ago whilst working in Castel. Have to say the service is excellent, the food is fantastic and the wine is perfect! As most of the other reviewers have noted the place fills up quick so get in early and they close moderately early too so book first to be sure. It's small... More

An excellent choice. We eat here as regularly as we can. Whilst the menu is not extensive and typical of the area, the food is very good. Its like sitting in someones living room and that's part of its charm. The service is always good and the waiter Nicholas is very helpful (his English is extremely good). I would recommend... More

The food is great and the prices are cheap. The service is friendly but it can be a little bit long: this restaurant is small and has a lot of success.

Delicious traditional food with warm attentive staff. Our order was mixed up due to fussy requests from our kids but the staff corrected the mistakes immediately and with a smile. Couldn't recommend more. Came away stuffed due to the large portions. Even though it's extremely difficult to do, try and save room for the amazing deserts. Castelnaudary is not the... More
