I had a meal with a dozen friends at the Woolpack. The service was slick and professional, and the food well prepared. Very polite and obliging staff.

We visited for a works christmas meal which we had done for several years, we pre ordering our food. The staff made us feel very welcome and we had a room to ourselves which 18 of us just about squeezed into. The food was presented nicely but was quite bland, and there was a huge difference in portions I.e. for... More

Decided to eat here and outside of Bury St Edmunds where many of the restaurants are average and overpriced, we were not disappointed. We went on curry night, they were fabulous well prepared and of generous proportions and included starters. The beers were in excellent condition. We were tempted by the assorted dessert sampler wow !!!......and all of the staff... More

Over from Spain to celebrate my birthday with our family - what a disappointment! My meal consisted of a pie with a really hard crust, a small bowl with a teaspoonful of cabbage and undercooked beans and mashed potatoes of a questionable origin. Thought the pies were "cooked to order" - don't think so. Was the chef in residence -... More

Have visited a few times now for lunch after shopping in Bury. Very good varied menu, we've enjoyed whatever we've had. The staff are lovely ,always a smile when you walk in,great atmosphere, great landlord too.We wish we lived nearer as the Woolpack would be our ideal local.Highly recommended.

Whoever is running this gaff now is making a damn good fist off it. Lovely roast dinner with generous portions reasonably priced and really nice and helpful staff. The owner was very friendly too. Nice outdoor area with chickens running amok and petanque, kids play area. Definitely recommend for a family sunday roast.

Popped in Friday lunchtime, quite busy with diners. Good ale, good service, bit of a wait for the food but it's good and fresh and cooked to order. Local produce, fairly priced, all good. We'll be back for dinner soon!
