I must disagree with previous reviews most strongly. My wife and I visited the restaurant following the glowing reviews. We ordered Florentine steak between us and when it came it was so tough that one could not cut through it with a knife far less chew it. We complained to the manager and despite not paying for the steak it ruined our... More

The hotel recommended this restaurant so was a little sceptic at first but willing to give it a try. It isn't easy to find but was I glad I did. After the family with the screaming kid moved on and more adults came in the restaurant took on a very nice atmosphere. The food was incredible and to paraphrase some... More

Four of us had a great meal, including Florentine steak and a fish dish. You can watch your food being prepared on a TV screen. The chocolate desserts were fabulous!

So my title says it all. I had the BEST steak of my life at Scacciaguai. It was so good. I got the filet wrapped in lard. It was sooo good. (Did I already say that?) Go get one! In addition to the great steak, we had a wonderful experience at this restaurant. The staff was very friendly, and the... More

You get the best of both worlds here, atmosphere and fine food! I love to decor and feel of this place, and the food is done with flair and so good! Try the ravioli, it is hand made and so delicious. This is a great place to get a meal in a unique atmosphere.

My wife and I just returned from a delicious dinner at Scacciaguai in Barga. We stay at the Renaissance Tuscany Il Ciocco Resort & Spa and just wanted to grab some nice food on our last night in Italy. I read some recommendations for restaurants in Barga before we went there. After a short hike through town we stopped at... More

How much fun it was to visit this quaint restaurant whose name I still can't pronounce, in a medieval town in Italy. A restaurant that has a cc camera on its chef and kitchen so all patrons can watch their meals being prepared as they munch on the delicious bread and sip their wine. To top it all the food... More

A really lovely meal, with great pasta starters and the best steak we have had in a very long time: tender, succulent, tasty and well cooked. Complimentary glass of Prosecco a nice touch. Meal for three with water, wine but no sweet or coffee 105€. Only spoilt by noisy, pretentious Americans opposite, but that's no fault of the restaurant!

Just had to try the famous Tuscan T Bones at least once while we were in the region and we certainly chose well ordering it here. Not only was it huge at 1.2kg,but it was of first class quality, and was reasonably priced. Matched with roast potatoes and green salad it fed both of us,and would probably have been enough for... This was by far the best dinner we've had in the region! The service was great, we were welcomed with a glass of prosecco and some delicious bread. We then had the maki sushi (a little unorthodox for Tuscany, we know) which was certainly a different take on the original, but no worse for it! We then had some fresh... More
