We have visited this little cafe several times and have always loved the great, authentic food. However, we have seen the prices creep up from reasonable to bordering on the pricey, and on our most recent visit we waited over an hour, with no explanation, other diners were served before us, having reserved a table - how, with their 'no... I've been to unithai countless times and it never fails to offer amazing Thai food. You could be sat by the freezers in the shop, but that's part of the charm. The shared dining means you end up talking to other customers which is lovely. The food itself is fresh and packed full of flavour. Each dish tastes completely different... More

Really tasty - as long as you are a bit patient, you will love the food once it arrives. Casual and delicious, this food is a treat.

Unithai is ok for a lunchtime meal, it's not expensive. Menu is not extensive and surroundings are not fancy.

I think there is a certain duty to manage one's expectations, with this place. It's basic in decor, service opening hours and menu... The place is spotlessly clean, the staff simply lovely and the menu has all the classics, served in a little back room at the back of an Asian supermarket. The ingredients all are fresh as is possible,... More

Quite possibly Hove's best-kept secret, this place is absolutely worth a visit. It's no frills, so if you're looking for a fine dining experience, go elsewhere. Expect to have to share a table with another couple or not have your food come out all at the same time, this place is rightfully more focused on the quality of its food.... More

Pound for pound this is one of the best places to eat in Brighton. It's not fine dining, but what it does, it does very well. Which is more that can be said for most places in Brighton. It's simple tasty thai food that has the authenticity of being cooked real time and with some care - with fresh ingredients... More

I probably should be selfish and not share this one with the TripAdvisor community as it's pretty hard to get a table here as it is! It's a little gem of authentic Thai food. A no frills establishment - located in the back of the Asian supermarket - but always a queue of people looking to get an authentic, tasty... More

I wanted to buy a Christmas present of Thai food for a friend who loves to cook Thai style. I didn't have a clue what to buy so I went into Unithai and hoped for help. The young lady assistant was superb. She took me around all the shelves and made up the ingredients for a Thai Curry and something... More

You'll find yourself in a very small supermarket, getting a table in a small back room, or in the corner of the shop. It's all a little weird. You may end up waiting a while to find a seat (there aren't many and you may have to share a table) and service is very slow. But it's worth it if... More
