The interior of The Hove Kitchen is cavernous, with cosy nooks which work well if you're meeting a group of friends. Genuinely shabby (rather than shabby chic), the decor is stripped wood with lurid paintings. The place was quite empty on a Saturday afternoon, despite the heaving crowds of Xmas shoppers outside. The generous ceramic pots of tea a delight,... More

Mayb the potatoes , but the fish in batter was dry and way over cooked disappointing as we were both hungry and looking forward to a nice meal..we won't be... More

First visit to Brighton/Hove for many years and although this restaurant doesn't look very inviting, we needed to eat so gave it a try. Welcomed by friendly young man. Chose the £9.99 for two courses lunch. Served by lovely, friendly waitress. Lunch was excellent value and delicious. Carrot and chilli soup, fish cakes with various fish, tender minute steak and... Had a lovely meal here on Thursday night with my friends. A very warming atmosphere and the two waitresses, i think there names were Grace and Anna (Sorry if wrong) were attentive, polite and had a charm about them i could not fault. Food was served quickly and tasted delicious. The only fault were that the chips were so thin... More

I went to HK a few weeks ago, the service given by the waiting staff was great (very attentive) and our food was delicious! We were seating at the bar, next to us was a table full of drunken girls, they were proper loud (really annoying if you ask me!), suddenly we realised that the drunken girls were behind the... More

I read the reviews before coming here so didn't have high hopes, but I couldn't disagree more with what some people have written on here! My food was delicious and served by two lovely brown haired waitresses who were friendly and understanding when we wanted to alter our orders. After our food we went into the bar because there a... Recently organised my wife's birthday party for 22 at the Hove Kitchen .. saw the reviews below and was concerned, but all proofed to be unfounded. The service was great, the good also (although the fish was a little dry), and the wine flowed :-) It was a great meal all round and I recommend you try them out

This place has so much potential, the food is ok and they do a great Bloody Mary but everything is overpriced. I wouldn't mind paying for better food or average food with decent service, the waitress we had was clueless. Fix the toilet that's been out of order since June too, and the disabled toilet downstairs can only be opened... More

My partner and I were wandering around and just walked in to Hove kitchen for lunch. The place was busy and when we were asked if we were wanting lunch were warned that it was a half hour wait. We decided that was okay sat down and ordered a bottle of Prosecco. When the waiter came back they apologised that... More
