Good food, efficient service

This is one of the larger restaurants in de Koog, with a remarkable and relatively long history. The menu is nice. We had the mustard soup, excellent, and the carpaccio salad, very good. We were also thrilled by the North Sea soul, which was excellently cooked, fresh and very tasteful. I can... read more

The food was very good (the childrens' spaghetti bolognese was very tasty) - excellent club sandwich. Kids loved the free soft toy and the bouncy castle

Both the food and the service were of good quality. A typical restaurant where we would like to come back. We only ordered some bread and a main course and we were stuffed! There were a lot of side dishes with the main dish. The ambiance was nice and comfortable, although there were a lot of children in the restaurant... More

Surprisingly tasty vegetarian food available. Limited choices for vegetarian food but those tasted were good quality, with very generous portions. Open spacious restaurant with helpful staff and an English menu.

Located in the main street in De Koog, we dined here on our first night on Texel. What a disappointment it was. We were promptly seated by the abundance of personnel at the entrance. The interior of the restaurant was cosy, room enough for every table. Several different waitresses took our order, brought our food, cleared the table, brought the... More

The outstanding thing about this restaurant was the service. Our waiter was excellent and his English amazing. It also helped that they had the menus in English! The food was very good and the portions are enormous. Three of us had the smoked fish and shrimp starter, one had soup. The produce was lovely and fresh. For mains we had... More

We have just come back from four glorious days on Texel and are keen to visit again. However, this restaurant was our only disappointment on the island. Based on the recommendations on this site we visited for an evening meal on a busy Saturday. In their favour we were promptly seated albeit in a grim and dismal corner. The food... More

This restaurant makes the difference by combining a good menu with plenty of choices with great service. Restaurant was packed on this Saturday night, but the service was there at the right time and the food came along at the right pace. Some more variety in the wine list would be a good addition. Certainly a place I would go... More

Fantastic take on mosterd soep with the bite of the gerookte zalmen mixing in with the mustard and a few garnel for interest. Partner had Schinken, kaas en ui pannekoeken which was nicely caramelised. Service was swift, polite and genuinely jolly. Nice windbreaked terrace on the main winkel straat...Dorp. Just down from the post huys and it's adjacent intriguing art... More
