Just about as original as it gets

Ate here with 8 other members of my family, it's a really down-home kind of deal which we found really appealing, you just plonk yourself down on long benches and tuck in to barbecued pork ribs and great steaks, grilled octopus, rough local wine without too much of a kick to it, all in a great... read more

Wow! Finally an exciting menu in Galicia and such amazing value. The mixed vegetable tempura is highly recommended as are the soups and the homemade wine served in a bowl. Can't wait to return, must be the perfect place at night for a quemada ceremony. Fantastic service too....thanks for making our Colombia - UK reunion so special.

The best pulpo a la gallega I had in Galicia, they have community tables that make you feel like in medieval times. It's kind of far from Santiago but it's worth the trip just to taste their amazing tapas!

Located on the outskirts of Santiago de Compostela, this is a very comfortable restaurant for eating home-made food. The place is big with several truly impressive wood sculptures and the owner, who is a poet has decorated the walls with his own poems. It also has a children zone with swing and a big car park.

Although it's well off the beaten track and requires designated drivers, this is a good place for a large get-together rather than any intimate dinner. The food is wholesome, delicious and made using organic products. You eat on large shared tables in either a large hall or outside and the atmosphere overall is warm and festive. I've been twice and... More

organic galician food in a festive atmosphere. Prices on the medium to high range, but worth a visit. Only problem, driving there and managing not to drink their nice wines.

If you fancy coming back to the medieval times, this is the place, no forks, no plates.. it feels like one will find robin hood having lunch there. In summer time great outdoor area.

Traditional galician food. The restaurant is in an old river mild, in the middle of the wood. The ambient is done on purpose to look like a very ancient village, no dishes fork or anything (although, at the same time, the waiters use kind of electrocnick notebooks).

This place is a bit out of the way but we found it with the GPS and its well worth it. The food comes in large portions, chicken wings, ribs, croquetas, Pimentos de padron ect. We had much more and it came to 15 euros each with wine. The place itself is on 3 levels, much of it below ground. The... More

Fogar de Santiso is truly a magic place, with such an authentic atmosphere. You truly have the impression to jump suddenly in the past. The architecture and the way the restaurant is conceived is worth the drive you need to do to reach it, including the times you might get lost, since there are no indications and GPS work poorly...
