Excellent fish and reasonable prices

Slightly worried that the place was deserted, but having seen some of the places that were crowded, we decided to give it a go. Glad we did! Went for our usual option of fish of the day, local name vieja (literal translation = old lady!). Very tasty, came with salad and Canario wrinkled potatoes... read more

We love eating here. As a small family run restaurant, the staff always give you a warm welcome. Unlike some restaurants on the front, you never feel rushed and the staff always have time for a chat. They love to tell you about the food and wine and take great pride in their work.

One street back from the seafront in the middle of resort by childrens playground (5mins walk) in a quiet area, mixture of locals and tourists. good choice of Tapas which were large portions & reasonable prices (3-4 tapas and some glasses of wine were enough for 2 of us and €30 in total). The Galician Octopus & baby squid were... More

First night in Playa Blanca our family (4 adults and one 8 year old child) decided to give Casa Jose a try after a local recommended it to us. On arrival it looked to be about half full but the waiter said there would be a 10 min wait (on hindsight probably code for Go Away!). Having been seated after... More

The waiter was so so attentive from the second we entered the restaurant. Bread was still warm after just coming fresh out of the oven and 6 out of 8 of us got the mixed grilled fish special which was absolutely delicious, lots of fish and great value for money (15€ each, including huge salads and Canarian potatoes with two... a small yet to be discovered place where locals go... and yes, it's typical, serves excellent food, with an immense sense of customer orientation. The smile and hospitality of Jose-Luis is amazing. A good tip is when you more locals than tourist getting into the place.

We ate here 3 times during our 2 week stay. We found the restaurant by accident as we had been aiming for another which then turned out to be closed for the night. This restaurant hardly ever seems to be very busy. I don’t know why. The waiter is friendly and helpful. The food is excellent and the prices are... More

We just had fish of the day for two, papas arrugadas with mojo and cerveza. Not more than that, but totally satisfied. Good quality, good quantity for just 30 Euro. It looked as a quite popular place for the locals, not so common since Playa Blanca is a great tourist attraction.

We eat here as we wanted something different from the usual fare on the beach front. Its located just next to the church on the hill up from the main taxi rank. It also has a good bar area which I will use on our next trip. The sea food special was very tasty and good value. The stak was... More

Had been to this restaurant in previous years, but this became my regular haunt due to its friendly welcome, good and varied food and would recommend it. As a solo traveller, on this occasion, it was nice to have a friendly venue and the cook came out to meet me on one night. My only criticism is that they did... More
