This was recommended to us by a local and proved to be an outstanding find. It is right on the Fontanilla beach in Cornill and the freshness, quality and value of the seafood is outstanding. The choice is wide and we had oysters, crab, wonderful sole and hake. It also does meat dishes but this is primarily a seafood restaurant.... More

I hope I have the right place because the restaurant is called Francisco de Fontanilla, there is no "Casa" in the name. It is indeed on the beach and on the road that leads down to the parking from Camino de Fontanillo. We had the seafood paella which was very good. It is a dish for two at €16 per... More

This was the one right on the beach, the Rough Guide's top choice, and it didn't disappoint. The plump lenguado was a particular delight and the bottle of Manzanillo at only 10 Euros was a perfect accompaniment. Packed with locals on a Saturday afternoon - which says a lot. Tried to return for Tuesday lunch but was closed. They obviously... More

NOTE - As per a previous correspondent, there are 2 restaurants with same name in Conil. This review relates to the one at Fontanilla beach. I have tried to report the confusion to Tripadvisor but as yet nothing appears to have been changed. The restaurant is right on the beach and offers superb views of the sunset as a free... More

Really good food well served, they seem to be really trying. Fish excellent. Exquisite starter. Sat inside because it was so hot outside - but nice view of what was going on outside on the front.

We ate here on our first night in Conil, because the realtor of our villa said that Francisco's is the best of the beach restaurants. The location is wonderful and the service was good. My daughter strongly disliked the squid meatballs. The fries were limp. The tuna plate was lovely, but the guacamole had hard bits and rotten bits, a... More

NOTE: There is more than one restaurant with this name in the area and I fear that some of the reviews here are for the "other" one. The one we went to is called Restaurante Francisco la Fontanilla and it is right on the beach (playa de la Fontanilla). Their web site is at http://www.franciscofontanilla.com/ This was one of the... We hate a very good Paella, sited outside with an extraordinary view to the beach. the desert was also very good, and the service a bit slow, but it was august...! I recomend this place!

We ate in this restaurant twice while on holiday & all 7 of us had fantastic meals both times. Some of the food came with fresh vegetables which is a really bonus in Spain. We ate meals such as the Ox tail stew (which was lovely slow cooked meat), rock fish, fish stew, paella, tuna sushimi, cod.... None of us... More

A proper restaurant on the beach - not a Chiringuito. Serves good traditional fish meals with views of Fontanilla beach in Conil
