After reading good reviews we tried to have a Sunday Dinner. On arrival we found the place full to the seams with diners, so walked on and ate elsewhere. We went here about 5pm one afternoon. We had read good things on trip advisor and decided to give it a go. We were a party of 8 and all in all it was disappointing. Owned by enlish/portugese couple, food was fantastic and reasonable price, must have the Madeira Kebab. Breakfast is brilliant too they wil literally cook anything you want.

unfortunately we only found O Barao 3 days before coming home, if we'd known about it on arrival we'd have eaten here most nights. we will return.

Great little restaurant situated just away from the main strip. Came across this gem by accident and glad we did. The service and the food are excellent,ate here a couple of times towards the end of our holidays, wish we had found it sooner. Visited this restaurant many times food is lovely here going to Portugal a long time and eat here most nights coming back the 1st of July and will definitely be eating here

the staff are all pleasant. The food is excellent Portuguese steak is fillet exceptional value for money Chips are to die for oh yes and the garlic mushrooms are spot on You won't leave hungry Food just as nice as Ruccula in Alvor

Always use o Barao when staying in Praia da Vau/Praia da Rocha. Does the best Fish, Chips and mushy peas in the resort. Is just off the main street as you would go towards Titanic restaurant (didn't go there this year as previous experience put me off completely) Always very clean, very busy with good service. On the evening we arrived we were having a drink and the lady at the next table told us about this place and we are glad she did. We have gone on to tell others and we hope that they do the same

only told about this place by toni from bar in solmonte 6 days into our 9 day stay but was glad he did. had small sun dinner i had beef mrs chicken and was scrummy and big enough 6.05 euro each. next had steak pie mrs fish chip mushy pea again lovely and big portions. final time sos egg chips...
