We visited in autumn and enjoyed an antipasti of prosciutto followed by mushrooms from the surrounding forests with tagliatelle. Simple and delicious. Good chianti. Lunch was very busy with locals enjoying their midday meal there but the staff were friendly and happy to accommodate a couple of tourists with limited Italian.

I have been trying to make lunch at this restaurant for a few years. This time we made it on time. Everything about it is great...informal, but wonderful. We had so much fun here too. The food is excellent.

La Casa del Prosciutto was a recommendation of our host, la signora Gabbriella, who knows all the excellent traditional Toscan places where one can try the real taste of Tuscany cusinine. Homemade pasta and delicious antipasti (local traditional various types of salami and cheese) and, of course, the typically Italian atmosphere: very friendly and cousy. The restaurant is famous for... More

Tipical Italian food. Very busy and noisy. No space: 40 people in a room for 20, but good food and friendly staff. Recommend for informal lunch. We were a group of 20 and returned there twice as we enjoyed it very much.

Casa del Prosciutto is always worth a visit. In season it is always packed so you will wait some time if you don't have a reservation. Or you can order in the bottega and eat outside at the ouc nic tables provided. Their homemade pastas are excellent, their second courses are made with local fresh products. It is a very... More

Definitely to recommend this little trattoria just check out the opening hours in advance. Try whatever you can and mingle with locals.

We try to visit the Mugello twice a year, staying in the village of Sagginale so at least one visit to La Casa del Prosciutto is, for us , a must, small: yes, but with a fantastic atmosphere and always very busy, booking is always advisable but every effort will be made by the charming and extremely efficient staff to... This very little and cozy restaurant in the country is absolutely packed full of a few large happy Italian families and couples on a leisurely escape from Florence. The restaurant and area are NOT for those who are more comfortable visiting landscapes and restaurants that cater to tourists in any capacity - not in cuisine selections or service. It is... More

In the village of Vicchio, in the Mugello area north of Florence there is a delightful little deli & restaurant called, “La Casa del Prosciutto” (the house of ham). IF you appreciate eating where the locals eat, what they eat and how they eat it . . . this is your place. You enter through the deli. The restaurant space... More

Really nice place if you are on the road. I mean,if you are around and you don't know where to eat it's a nice place. It's a bit a rustic place, the staff is kind but not turistic, so don't expect to receive advices about food or explanation on what you are eating. You can expect to eat the real... More
