Must go!

Best dinner in Italy for reasonable prices. Entire menu is in Italian, which we could not read, but the waiters were extremely helpful. Had the signature dish of Tuscany and it was excellent. My only regret is not eating there the next night.

We had pretty high expectations for dinner, and sadly almost everyone (6 of us) did not like their main course. The service and atmosphere were really nice. We had two yummy appetizers (the antipasti platter and the burrata sandwich), then the restaurant bombed out. The truffle pasta was bad - overwhelmed with off-tasting, woody truffles. No one finished it. A... More

We had the honor and pleasure of taking cooking classes with Chef Cristian at the Villa Campestri Olive Oil Resort and it was by coincidence that we came across his restaurant. The ambiance was cozy and very welcoming, with light music playing in the background while we ate dinner. The staff were very friendly and kind to us and helped... More

6 months on and another enjoyable meal at this restaurant and of course a superb wine. Notwithstanding the TripAdvisor list this is the definitely the best independent restaurant in Vicchio as can be seen by the fact that it is usually pretty full even with all its many tables. I have to say that I think the restaurant needs to... More

Porta di Levante continues to shine as one of the best restaurants in the area and what a wine cellar. Again we have modern Tuscan cuisine evolving and top rate local produce resulting as always with the magic of Christian in the kitchen in the most fantastic dishes. Having had a cooking lesson with Christian at the nearby Villa Campestri... More

On a wet evening in July we had a meal with Italian friends here and the experience was mixed. After the resolution of a booking error we were given a lovely round table in the front room. A glass of white wine was given to us immediately as a welcome drink. Some of the dishes were successful, others had sounded... More

A great meal in a lovely setting. We managed to get a table outside on the terrace and had their seasonal tasting menu which was really good. The truffle featured very heavily on the menu and was a little over done but the overall quality was really good. The staff are really helpful and the owner selected a fantastic bottle... More

Stumbled across this restaurant by accident. Didn't expect such a fantastic restaurant in such an out of the way location. The food was superb and I was extremely delighted at the choice of wine available to compliment the food. Great ambiance with different groups in the room I was in. There was another group of British tourists as well as... More

Doesn't look much from the outside, and isn't in a scenic location, but food and service both very good. Price very acceptable. Menu is in Italian but waiter (owner ?) was very accomodating and translated with reasonably good grace. I know - what should we expect !! Well worth a visit.
