A pleasant sidewalk terrace outside the cantinetta. Exceptionally good food, pleasant dining rooms some with privacy. Reasonable prices. No pretense. Cordial owner and other guests. We Floridians enjoyed talking at dinner with a couple from Estonia. A local artist and teacher taught us about transubstantiation in paintings over lunch! Would not have happened at home.

The food was awesome with a focus on local dishes. Service was excellent and the owner even packed up some food to go for one of our party who was sick back at the hotel

Just the way you expect your regular good Italian restaurant to be: good, typical food (without any real wow effect beyond a good Italian/Tuscan cuisine, but no disappointments either) with fair portions, friendly, family-style setting and service, fair prices and a free grappa to finish it off. :-)

We ate here twice on our recent stay in San Casciano. We were six - with two children - and we all enjoyed our dinners. The food was well prepared and the service was excellent and friendly. Being offered free Limoncellos after dinner just topped it off.

We stopped at this place for lunch during our tour of the Chianti Classico wine region. The appetizers were superb. Many liked the eggplant, while my favorite was the liver pate. I ordered the wild boar pasta and it was better than I imagined. This place is definitely worth the 30 minute drive from Florence.

We ate here several times during our stay just outside the town. We sampled pretty much the entire menu over the course of our visits (there were also 8 - 12 people at each sitting)! The staff were extremely friendly and the food was simple and delicious. THe meat lovers devoured the lamb chops and I really enjoyed the pasta... More

This was a restaurant we had wanted to try, as it is along the main street (via Novembre) of our little town in San Casciano in Val de Pesa where we were staying a month. They seemed happy to see us initially, yet when we inquired about the open table in the front outside along the street, he offered the... More

We went to this restaurant after getting a very bad treat from another restaurant.Joseph met us with a very nice smile in his face and arranged a big table for 12 people even at their off time.He first brought their wine list and then gave a brief explanation about the local food and what they had on that day.Every dish... I went here with my family over the Christmas holiday as we were visiting San Casciano, which is nearby to our home. The location is warm and pleasantly decorated, which was fine. The menu was a bit limited in terms of variety. The quality of food was middle of the road for Tuscany in our opinion, and we live here.... More
