My wife and I spent two weeks traveling in Sicily. The rather modest Al Buco served our best meals in the restaurant-saturated Noto area. We kept trying others, but came back three times to al Buco. The pasta Capriciosa, the rabbit, the lamb, and the salads were distinctive with good quality ingredients. The service staff was great; be certain to... More

3/5 - good food, but very busy/crowded with a group on street so had to chose inside downstairs with no real atmosphere

It was so slow we left after an hour of waiting for two plates of pasta. It was so slow our waiter apparently thought we were there too long and tried to give us someone else's bill. It was so slow three other tables who came after we did, got their food, ate, got their bill, paid and were long... More

This small restaurant in Noto is practically in two rooms. It has around 8 tablet. Inside you'll find an atmosphere 100% from the Italian movies: waiters that are chatting freely with the customers or eating at a nearby table, the space between the tables is very small. They have some history(around 50 years) and a lot of pictures on the... More

I had the seafood grill, which was great; watch for the whole shrimp with its head, the norm for Sicily. Best bean soup! Swift service, fair prices.

A very promising beginning with lots of people there and an amiable waiter. Our main courses (we both had prawns) were good and the house white wine alright though a somewhat off-putting colour. However service then simply ceased while the waiter chatted to customers in the other room.Having waited, perplexed, for ages we finally gave up on dolci or coffee.... More

We stumbled into this gem after a frustrating drive looking for parking. The antipasti plate had 10 different items, all were great. Ravioli and linguine with pesto and pine nuts were both great. Great lunch place for sure. Priced reasonably.

Followed the LP advice and tries this place. Nice spot my the cathedral steps. Friendly staff but very slow. Antipasti plate very generous and nice enough. Nothing outstanding but pretty good food at an ok price considering the location

We stopped at Al Buco for lunch on a day trip to Noto. The food was excellent. We shared the antipasti to start which was amazing - the flavours were just gorgeous. We then had calamari and an onion and tomato salad for main and again it was so tasty. The way the salad was dressed made it taste absolutely... More
