We ate at Il Celliere on a recent trip to Monopoli. The location is beautiful in a picturesque square in the old town. The service was excellent, the staff very attentive and helpful. Most importantly, the food was wonderful, with ample choices on the menu. Antipasti was great, main courses were wonderful, again table service efficient and helpful. The dessert... More

Now called Ristorante Palmiere, this beautiful restaurant sits on the edge of Piazza Palmieri in old town Monopoli. The chef is new, but the tradition of having the best seafood in Monopoli continues (we've been coming here to visit family for a dozen years). Salmon crudo with strawberry sauce, tuna mousse, swordfish crudo with red peppers, marinated mussels were just... More

When we went, they had recently changed management and name, but that did not detract from our experience. This restaurant served amazing food, with a classy atmosphere which would have been equally suited to a larger city. The antipasti were all faultless, but the special iced fish (I can't remember the name on the list) has to be tried (and... More

We were only spending the night in Monopoli so didn't know any restaurants in the town but got a recommendation to eat here. Glad we took it up! We were there during the summer and it was the local Jazz festival on the sqaure next to the restaurant so had a great view and seat for the show. We ordered... More

We dined in 4 restaurants whilst we were in Monopoli and this was definitely the best. They have a covered terrace in the square which is a really great place to sit (quiet and with good people watching) and the food, service and value were all excellent. We shared the antipasti to start, the quality and quantity were really amazing... More

In puglia it has hard to have a small meal, we shared the antipasti and were delighted by the presentation and variety (specializing in fish). We then had various pastas ,seafood tortellini , orecchiette with porcini and the grilled seafood platter...my mouth is watering thinking about this, but alas I am on the plane waiting to fly back home. Service... More

Excellent food, and of course an excellent selection of fine wines ( Il Cellere means the wine cellar) great service, and very nice atmosphere sitting outside in the small square beside the church Asked for the appetizers of the house and an assortment of 8 different dishes came out, octopus, shrimp, mussels, rice balls, etc. All great. Loved the fact... More
