Delicious food and pleasant ambience

They have awesome food..super delicious..i also liked the vegetarian options that they have..and also the wine collection is good. Ambience wise..Its an ancient place with cosy corners..think they would serve outside too during summers. But you sure would have to shell out a premium for it!

A beautiful very small hotel in a lovely old building which was renovated and decorated with many beautiful details. The restaurant is in a different building a 2 minutes walk down the street. It is an interesting place with many nice rooms, inside and outside. The foo is really good and the wine is ok. But the rates for the... More

Madam Horeth greets each diner at the entrance. A very nice touch. The restaurant is an old rambling mill with plenty of atmosphere. There are many side rooms where, although there are many covers, it retains a certain intimacy. I've eaten here a few times in the last 20 years or so and maybe it's my faulty memory but the... Prior to staying in Kobern Gondorf I've done a bit of a research and was looking forward to trying this restaurant. I must say from the very first moment the experience was great. Very warm service, fantastic local dishes and the ambiance made the visit a complete joy. Whilst it may not be the cheapest restaurant you'll ever visit, you... More

Really off the beaten track, this restaurant occupies an 11th-century mill and boasts its own vineyard and wines. Food can be uneven, but the magical medieval ambiance makes it worth a special trip. It's hard to choose between the candlelit nooks and crannies inside or the sprawling gardens outdoors. Either way, you can't go wrong. (previously published on examiner.com)

The decoration and the service are excellent. It is worth the detour even if only for the decoration of the wonderfully renovated winery.

This is a unique chance to eat in an old mill filled with a rustic and romantic atmosphere and nooks and crannies. Each room looks different. Dishes are numerous but it can be hard to read them as they are handwritten and handwritten German can sometimes read different. Lots of wines to choose from. You might have to park further... More

A converted mill, this place makes you think you are in the 1400's. The food was very good, perfectly cooked meat, interesting dishes, and the food felt very German. They have a great selection of very local wines. We were very happy with our experience.

At the recommendation of our B&B we went for dinner to Der Alte Mühle in Kobern-Gondorf. We had already peeked in at one of our hiking trips and had then asked to see the menu. Although the menu was very difficult to read, the place looked interesting and cosy and we were curious and decided to give it a try.... More

There are many nice restaurants along the Mosel valley between Koblenz and Cochem but Alte Mühle is probably the most amazing one, since 30 years Thomas Höreth, his family and his team have been renovating an old mill and host wine tasting and gastronomy restaurant. All 20000 bottles of their production are either consumed or sold on the spot... Great... More
