Portions large enough for a small family, priced at single serve

I had a three course menu, and let's say that the servings were "ample". Being half British, my manners dictate that the plate should return to the kitctchen empty - didn't happen in this case (not that the food was to blame). Fantastic creamed mushroom soup for starters, followed by a Schnitzel... read more

Great old-world historic charm. The building has long interesting history dating back hundreds of years. Food and service was great. Local specialities offered. Waiters was friendly and explained details in English.

We have eaten several times at the Abthaus and this time we had Grunkohl which is very seasonal local dish. Fantastic wine list, excellent friendly service and splendid value. A must do.

We recently dined here with a very large group of people and I can honestly say they were very accommodating and welcoming. The menu selection has something for everyone and the food was well prepared and delicious. The restaurant itself is beautiful and very nice to spend time in. I would recommend this restaurant and go back next time I... More

The selection is ample so that everyone can find something to eat. The food is very well prepared and top quality. The service was very friendly. The historic abbot's home is a unique setting with beautifully restored woodwork that makes for a very comfortable setting. With 3 courses and drinks for about 35 Euro, I would definitely here again.

Very busy restaurant in the heart of Buxtehude. Very nice building and the menu was extensive. I was on my own so only had the Wienner Schnitzel, which was excellent.

Delightful tea, homemade cakes, great, attentive service, and reasonable prices. Parking on side streets or behind the City Library. Evening fare recommended, but was surprised to see dogs? in a restaurant. Interesting interior deco and fun to sit upstairs. Great downtown location in Buxtehude.
