Had an hour to kill before our boat left town. Our tour guide told us Zum Ochsen was his favorite hangout for a bier. The place had about 20 locals all speaking German but we did not feel uncomfortable. I had a local dark brew, my wife joist a coke. We split a Jagerschnitzle and were pretty much stuffed. The... Stopped in for lunch on recommendation of a local, who claimed they have the best wursts in the city. Had the kasseler [smoked pork], which came with came with a pile of Bavarian style sauerkraut [with caraway seeds] and some really great dark bread. Also had Linsenger [looked like franks] but much better & a huge pile of really good... More

The waitress spoke some English and the menus were in English. There are less than 10 tables, so seating is limited, making for a very cozy and warm environment. We were the only non-locals. The food seemed to be authentic and was tasty and reasonably priced. Would go back!

Nightly special is the way to go - went back twice more during the trip. Will go back in future... More

The atmosphere is lovely, really cosy and perfect to relax. The waiter was very attentive and I got served immediately. Also impressive that the menu was both in German and English, however did it advertise traditional German pasta which is very delicious as noodles so don't be put off by that, they won't actually serve you noodles. The food was... More

I went into a very crowded restaurant at lunch time in a small town while on business. I asked the waitress for a table and was seated with the rest of the locals. The gentleman I sat with was very friendly and courteous. The waitress stated that the daily lunch special was the way to go. My lunch partner said... More
