This lovely *pub* ini the beautiful village of Ashton is well worth a visit. The menu is small but offers an excellent quality and price. I have been many times to this magnificent pub and each time I have been I have thoroughly enjoyed myself. The staff have always been more than charismatic, welcoming and willing to help. The food has been delightful, I thoroughly recommend both the Scottish Salmon and any of the pizzas.

Two couples, we had an evening meal midweek. The restaurant was full and staff were welcoming and very efficient. We had garlic chicken, salmon, falafel and broccoli tart, all of which were superb. This pub is in a idyllic spot on the Green with peacocks strutting about, surrounded by pretty thatched cottages. A beautiful setting.

I used to live in Ashton, for over 10 years. I have frequented the Chequered Skipper many many times. I've never had a bad experience; Food, staff, decor - amazing. I implore you to see reason, and visit this fine establishment, especially in the summer.

I went with my wife and two sons last week to the Chequered Skipper for a evening meal. We all decided to have pizzas. My wife and I wanted a simple but tasty lunch and we found it here. The pub was bustling with a mix of young and old. We were made to feel welcome and was served our food promptly. We will definitely go back. The one observation we had, was there was no background music on

We met at The Chequered Skipper after a day out swimming. Our party were seated in a separate dining room and the whole place was clean and fresh. The food orders (for a large group) were managed quickly and accurately, and the food was superb. Just wish I'd known there was dairy-free options available for dessert then I would have... More
