This place is elegant, service is excellent! We were seated at the sushi bar and it was quite a show - thoroughly enjoyed our date night. Sushi was fresh and excellent! We will be back for me. Oh, the service is excellent!

The food is tasty, but portions are small, desserts are microscopic. The restaurant is pretty expensive - a bill for two persons for a modest dinner (sashimi for 2 and dessert with a tea) can be over 100 dollars. And in addition, after dinner I had problem with my stomach.

For those of you that grew up with Seinfeld series, you may remember two iconic episodes. First one is where the Seinfeld gang wanted to sneak into a Chinese restaurant and couldn't get in and they tried to find various ways to get a table and the other episode is about the "Soup Nazi" where the chef is extremely particular... Ate here recently and could not fault the food. Lunch time with two sittings and time is strictly adhered to! That's OK because the food is magnificent. We have eaten in Japan so know the food. This was just superb. Magnificent flavours. Small restaurant but very busy. Real Japanese chef which makes the difference and staff very efficient. If you... More

Love the sushi - highly recommend the sushi counter. The ten course plus sushi selection at the counter is brilliant. Takes you on a sushi journey.

This is HQ japanese food. Nice atmosphere, great food, nothing standard. Maybe I am not an expert but there I tasted some flavors for the first time in my life. Small place with great food.

We made a booking for a birthday dinner one week prior. I told them when I booked that it was for a birthday celebration. When we got there with the cake, they said they have a "no cake" policy. I asked to speak to the Manager and he said "Sorry no cake policy". Not only did they not tell us... More

I have been to Shiranui before for dinner, and have had both the Omasake & ordered A-la-carte, it is quite pricey if you go for dinner. But if you go during lunch, you will find lunch deals for under $25, mostly consist of a small dish, a main dish, soup and another side dish. Definitely value for money. My favourite... More
