Puerto Rican food in the Tourist Zone

Close by hotel row, Platos specializes in local drinks and dishes such as sangrias, mofongus, maduros and lechons. The waiters are helpful, the service is quick, the food good and the price is right. Give it a try.

We enjoyed our dinner here. We started with a delicious cheese/guava some sort of dip appetizer? I can't remember what exactly it was but it was truly delicious. I had a chicken entree and really enjoyed it. Others who had the mofongo didn't like it as much as other mofongo in the area, but it was still decent. They had all... More

Had my birthday dinner here, and the food was really good! I'm vegetarian, and was happy to have some options. My friends loved the food as well, and they had live music. It's nothing fancy, but I would probably go back if I'm in PR again.

I went to dinner with my two boys (ages 12 and 10) and the place was packed. Very lively with a cool local feel. The service was average but I suspect that had to do with how full the place was. Food was really good and the passion fruit sangria was very tasty.

Overall the food was good - we did have an incident with one of the entrees. A shrimp alfredo entree was ordered but a chicken alfredo dish was delivered. I finished my entree before the shrimp was delivered. It was quite a lengthy wait. Upon starting to eat the pasta with alfredo sauce it was discovered that the sauce contained... More

The food at Platos blew the hotel food at Courtyard Marriott out of the water. And the service was even better. We ate here twice in the week we were there. Kenneth was our server both times. This guy was Great. I HIGHLY recommend the fried cheese with the guava-coconut-rum sauce and the fettuccini alfredo with chicken and/or shrimp. a... More

Excellent local food. Service excellent....willing to spend time explaining various dishes. Best skirt steak and garlic mashed ever. Steak was unbelievably tender and tasty. Wine by the bottle a true bargain at $27. The mussels with saffron were far and away the most outrageous I've ever tasted. Only thing missing was the bread to sop up the sauce!!! Will definitely... Delicious unique food!!! I'm still dreaming of the fried cheese appetizer... This was one of the nicer restaurants we ate at. Could go casual or dressy!
