The menu offered what appears like fairly standard pub food (all the 'usual suspects'), plus on a blackboard there were a few specials on offer which sounded good. We decided to... More

Took some friends here on Sunday not been ourselves for a while but the food was absolutely gorgeous, all four of us had a great meal with nice ale. Watching all the boats mooring up and moving on was great as well

Beautiful view over the Lancaster canal. The food is good pub grub priced sensibly with lovely friendly staff who can't do enough! Dogs are welcome inside and out which is a great feature. What more could you ask for on your doorstep?

The pub benefits from being in a great location, over looking the canal. The pub itself has changed hands in the last 2 years, which means the menu has changed, as has several other things. Staff can not be faulted, as they are certainly friendly and efficient. The menu would benefit from being updated, with the selection being quite unimaginative... More

Great beers (bottled and draught), great entertainment (live artists) and great food. What more is there to say. On a summers evening it a a joy to sit outside with a pint of 'Old Speckled Hen' and watch the canal boats in the basin.

We visited looking for somewhere to eat. Ordered food and drinks and went outside to sit down and wait. The food didn't take very long to arrive. Good quality and a generous amount and very tasty.
