Could be so much better

This pub is wonderfully located by the Lancaster Canal and from the roomy conservatory you can look out at narrow boats and more. There is easy wheelchair access to a large dining area. A couple of real ales are available and a few wines by the glass, but not sparkling wine. The food menu is... read more

Used to be fantastic. Now changed hands. Food poor quality for the price. They only accepted cash not card. Won't be back

We only visited for a quick drink while walking the Lancaster canal and the service and pricing was acceptable. The location is great being right on the towpath and the addition of a conservatory provides great views of both the canal and the local wildfowl. There is a small food menu which seemed to contain most of the pub staples... More

Discovered this place quite by chance the other day. What a lovely little find! Although it's in the middle of Carnforth and the A6 runs passed its door you have to keep your eyes peeled as the back of the pub faces the road, whilst it's quaint 18th century (I assume) facade faces the canal and tow path. Inside is... More

Went here just for a drink, the other half had just had a knee replacement a couple of days earlier, and wanted to go somewhere with a view. The Canal Turn has a conservatory which over looks the canal, so we could sit in the sunshine with the dog. The kitchen was closed the day we where there, but was... More

I called in yesterday for a pint and a packet of crisps. A good range of real ales on offer and several other customers sitting in the conservatory overlooking the canal and its marina. I cannot comment on the food, though food for ducks is on sale. The staff were perfectly civil.

As for the disabled lady having a meeting at this pub the pub was still closed at the time she was there and was asked politely to put her car across the car park as two removal vans with the managers furniture in were about too arrive this as I say was two days before the place re opened so... Tried to have a meeting at this pub, parked up (in a disabled bay with my badge) got told to move it as he had a delivery coming in s very rude way. He then said I shouldn't be in the car park as I am not going into the pub. I did say I was but it just snapped... More
