I invited a dear friend of mine to go out for a nice Sunday dinner. As we were visiting the Sir Harold Hillier gardens afterwards so wanted to take her somewhere local to that venue. I was kind of torn between going to the White Horse (Ampfield) or Potters Heron. In the end we decided to do the Potters Heron... More

Potters Heron is a good stop if you are passing as there is always a table and you can also sit outside. Food is nice and the menu has a good selection but tending to the more typical pub food. They have a lot of functions and weddings so often there can be quite a bit of coming and going... More

I attended an office xmas party - 17 of us. The service was terrible, the food cold, and the extras we simply never received. Needless to say, we went elsewhere last year.

We visited for a family meal a few weeks ago. The restaurant is nicely decorated with tables on different levels, creating an enjoyable atmosphere. The food itself was very good and well priced but the amount of time taken for service was somewhat slow. We visited on a Sunday evening and whilst it was not quiet it was also not... More

We had sunday lunch here. There were six of us and we all had different meals. Evereybody agreed ther meals were very good. From when we arrived until we left the staff were friendly and took care of us very well. The only negative the main meals were served by one guy who came out with two at a time,... More

Overpriced and unimaginative; the food was edible but that's about it. There was no flavour in the meat. The service was good but that's it.

Lots of choice of food and a very good wine list. When we were there it was very quiet so may be lacked a bit of atmosphere.

We were very impressed with this restaurant. On entering you can see that a lot has been spent on making a modern interior in a thatched building. All the staff were extremely well trained and friendly, but it was the food that really impressed. The pepper soup was beautifully enhanced by spices, and the salt and pepper Squid was up... More

My husband and I visited The Potters Heron last Saturday and decided to have a light lunch as we had visited this pub a couple of years ago just for a drink and as we were house hunting in the area decided to sample its food. Reviews looked reasonable so we were expecting nice food. It was very quiet in... More
