Very much worth trying!

This is a very small ristorante on the lovely Piazza di Spagna. There are only about 5 tables inside and everything in the place is done by a husband and wife team. She is front of house and he cooks every order in back. This is like going into someone's Tuscan home for dinner, it is wonderful... read more

We were in Piazza di Spagna and this place looked cozy and homey. First off, it was uncomfortably quiet in there - no music, no customers, etc. - just us and the old couple who run the place. Zero ambience. The woman seemed like she couldn't wait for us to leave. The man/chef kept standing by the door, staring out... More

It was a Wednesday evening when many restaurants in the area were closed for their weekly Giorno del riposo and we were going to Sette di Vino which we loved but since it was closed we Decided to go to ll Rossellino which we had read about and was in the same piazza. We walked in without a reservation for... More

Center of the wonderful Pienza, we want to try something else than the marvelous Mensa Del Conte, and we find an empty table between the 6 outside this little restaurant). The piazza is cool, so we decide to give it a try. From the beginning it seems we are bothering the lady with our requests (they are apparently complicated, as... More

Found it by a coincidence on a rainy day. One of those places I actually do not like to share – a dining experience ‘that goes to the book’.

This place was recommended to us by several people so we had high expectations. We should have left the moment we were immediately treated poorly. The older lady (think soup nazi from Seinfeld), came to take our order, and when we were not ready yet, huffed and stormed away. She came back 15 minutes later and dismissively asked if we... More

We wandered into this restaurant when we were recently visiting Pienza. The restaurant across was fully booked so we asked the owners of Il Rossellino if they could accommodate our family. Lucky for us we got the last 4 seats available. From the moment we walked in we felt comfortable and welcome, a bit like visiting the grandparents of a... More

We dined at Il Rossellino last night and felt we should make a comment. It is a very small restaurant, perhaps no more than 15 covers. The menu is small too, as you would expect. It is run by Enzo and and his wife and their food philosophy is simple: local and quality. They will not serve something just because... More

This is a tiny restaurant, seating at most a dozen people. The couple who run won't win a congeniality contest but more than make up for it with their choreographed service and cuisine. The kitchen can't be much bigger than a sleeper compartment on a train, yet everything we ate was freshly prepared. The menu is limited but thoughtful and... More

Delicious, atypical food, beautifully presented in modest portions. We have lived here for 15years , Montisi & Trequanda , and this is our favorite. Cosy in winter, terrazzo in mild weather.
