My boyfriend and I went to Pienza last Thursday for a short trip. We wanted eat something of tipical (Pienza cheese and red wine). We found "La buca di Enea" on TripAdvisor. It's a very nice place: small, clean and welcoming. Even if it's small the place is very quite and silent, so it's possible enjoy the food in a... More

My husband and I wanted to stop somewhere for simply pecorino cheese tasting and wine. A lite difficult to find in the small town at 3:30 pm when most places are closed until dinner time. We asked around in every shop we passed along the Main Street. Finally someone recommended la buca di enea and we were welcomed sign open... More

After looking for a good restaurante in Pienza, we decided to give it a try to La Buca di Enea. I must say it was definitely the right choice, because the food was really good and different from the "same-same" offer you can expect in Italian restaurantes. This is a great spot to have nice platters of cheese and salami.... More

This restaurant will be the most authentic/family meal you eat while in Tuscany. Luckily the owners of Agriturismo Creatiole sent us here the night before Easter (otherwise we wouldn't have gotten one of the few tables)- it's not fancy - it's simply a small local kitchen with great local food - every cheese you can imagine from the Tuscan area,... La Buca di Enea di Enea was a tiny hole in the wall treasure ran by a husband and wife team with the best most hospitable service and down right delicious food. And it is is found only a few steps off of the main street of Pienza, Corso Il Rossellini, on the quaint side street of Via della Buca,... More

They are one of the few places open all afternoon. The food was fantastic. We had a cheese board with delicious pecorinos and some jams on the side. The apple jam was awesome. They make it in house. I asked to buy some and they graciously gave me some to take home. I should have asked for the recipe because... More

To me, this was one of the places 'typical' of an area that is my goal to find when we travel. Loved the food, location and most especially watching the experts at work. They are unusual in that they do not close for the afternoon so can be a good fit if your schedule missed a lunch and it is... More
