Greatcasual dining

We arrived to Pienza at 4pm today and all the restaurants were closed. We had a great salad and crostini at this restaurant. What a treat! Make sure to try the pecorini cheese!

We asked our accommodation to make a booking for us here as it's very small. We arrived and were greeted with a smile and given the best table in the house. I follow a gluten free diet which you would think would be challenging in Italy but it's been easy. I was treated to the biggest tuna, mixed salad I... More

At first the owner was a bit grouchy but in the end we got 2 bottles of liquor (one of limoncello and one of "grappa di Brunello") to taste...and he din´t even charge us for that! as main course we had some spelt soup. a pasta with garlic sauce ("aglione"). Later we ordered some bruschetta. Be careful with what you... More

La Buca is a delightfully small (6-8 table) restaurant where you cannot help but talk to your table neighbors. The food was fantastic, the owner helpful and courteous, and the atmosphere is what you think of when your think Italian bistro. We had a delightful lunch in this little "hole in the wall." Would highly recommend for a quick bite.

Landed at Pisa and drove straight to the area for lunch. We looked up restaurants on trip advisor and this one came out as one of the best. Unfortunately, it was really disappointing. The food was really greasy and not what I consider to be authentic Italian.

This is my favorite restaurant in Italy. I was there in August of 2011, and I hope it says something that it's been 4 years, and I'm still thinking about the dinner i had there with my friends. Enjoyed not only the fresh ingredients, but also the friendly staff.

Food just kept coming... The staff chatted in italian, English, German, French.... Anti pasta great....Pasta was perfect with a tomato garlic and basil sauce... Pork main dishes had so much flavour... Great wine selection....grappa and limoncello flowed and all for a very good price! Small (restaurant) but perfectly formed (food) !!!!

We are on a 2 week food trip through Tuscany. During a rainy day stop in Pienza we happened upon this fantastic little restaurant. It's small but the food is wonderfully favorable. We started with the bean soup and everyone in our group proclaimed it to be the best they had ever had. Next was the bruschetta... The freshest tomatoes... More

Although this restaurant is small (room enough for about 14 people), the owners provide wonderful value and big meals. The service is friendly and pleasant, the portions generous and very tasty. We enjoyed salad (delicious), soup (hearty) pastas and crepes. Everything was fresh and tasty and our entire family ate for less than 100 Euros. This included 1/2 litre of... More

First we were welcomed with a plate of complimentary salami, which was good, so was the platter of cold cut and cheese we ordered. The stewed wild boar was soooo yammy! House wine is tasty too. Finished with (again) complimentary liquor. Some review talked about cover charge, but 1 euro per person is very reasonable, since it includes bread. Thanks... More
