We are on a 2 week food trip through Tuscany. During a rainy day stop in Pienza we happened upon this fantastic little restaurant. It's small but the food is wonderfully favorable. We started with the bean soup and everyone in our group proclaimed it to be the best they had ever had. Next was the bruschetta... The freshest tomatoes... More

Although this restaurant is small (room enough for about 14 people), the owners provide wonderful value and big meals. The service is friendly and pleasant, the portions generous and very tasty. We enjoyed salad (delicious), soup (hearty) pastas and crepes. Everything was fresh and tasty and our entire family ate for less than 100 Euros. This included 1/2 litre of... More

First we were welcomed with a plate of complimentary salami, which was good, so was the platter of cold cut and cheese we ordered. The stewed wild boar was soooo yammy! House wine is tasty too. Finished with (again) complimentary liquor. Some review talked about cover charge, but 1 euro per person is very reasonable, since it includes bread. Thanks... More

I have had lunch here the day after Easter during a trip with my friends in the centre of Tuscany. The room is quite small but the food is delicious. For starters we had a dish of cheese with different sauces and various slices of meat, it was simple but incredibly good, and for main courses I ordered the world... More

Having missed salads going through Tuscany we shared a great insalada mista followed by two excellent pasta dishes, one spinich and ricotta ravioli with sage and butter and the terrific house pasta with wild boar. Then a Limon liqueur followed by "the dulce", a warm fruit tart with melted cheese. Couple all this with a warm host in a tiny... More

The plates were very small, not good value for the price (we left hungry). The waitress wasn't polite and understanding. It was the first time for us in Italy that "coperto" (5euro) was added to the bill, and she was very reluctant to explain to us what it meant. Even laughed at us when we mentioned the restaurant we visited... More

We had a wonderful lunch here. The selection of salamis and cheese is outstanding, the bruschetta was fabulous and the pastas even better. The owner was very friendly and even treated us to some grappa. This is cooking with a heart.

After reading all the great reviews of this place, we were expecting a little bit more. The food we had was simple, but good. Positive service, but nothing special.

Enjoyed an interesting choice of local produce in this tiny restaurant at lunchtime - the hams and meats were delicious, as were the pasta dishes - well recommended
