Small authentic Pienza restaurant

Cozy authentic Tuscan restaurant, but very small (only 16 seats) hidden in a Pienza alley (in the old, historic small town. You'd better make a reservation if you don't like waiting outside till a table is free for you. Yet quick, classy service.

We stopped in here for dinner after being turned away from several places on the 'main drag' bc we didn't have a reservation. The owner here welcomed us despite us having a toddler in tow. The food was amazing...the meat lasagna, bruschetta, pici with tomato sauce, meAt platter...everything was incredible. And the service was really wonderful. The owner gAve our dUghter... More

My wife and I went to this restaurant hidden in a corner of lovely Pienza. It is a small place, six tables in all. We arrived quite late for lunch and not all the options were available. We both had home-made fresh pasta, a ravioli with fungi and pici with a duck ragú. A mixed greens salad with ripe, wonderfully... More

we popped in here just expecting coffee and cake but ended up eating lunch. The food here is really very good - and it does serve the best tomato bruschetta ever. It also serves the largest salads in the land ( also very flavoursome) I opted for warmed pecorino cheese with honey, walnuts and pine nuts - absolutely gorgeous. We... More

I really love bruschetta but prefer the traditional tomato bruschetta. This place gave us not only a fabulous bruschetta (fabulous is my husband's word) but a great cheese bruschetta as well. We also got traditional pasta with our meal which was good, but I would have loved to just make a meal of the bruschetta. It is a small one-man... More

Our kids (6 and 3) were getting squirrelly and I knew we had to get them food - fast. Heck, I was hungry as well. There are only about 5 or 6 tables at La Buca but we were fortunate enough to snag one and could not have been more pleased. My wife and our nanny had the cheese and... More

The best food, the best atmosphere and wonderful hosts! Do not miss it in Pienza because you will crave to go there a second time. My husband and I are Italian (and I am from Tuscany) and were looking for a place with authentic food and vibe .... Well we found it! Anything you order here is home made and... More

We went to this restaurant based on some of the other reviews here specifically stating how gluten friendly the owners and menu were. However, our experience was VERY different. When we sat down and the menus came, we asked about gluten-free options in our best Italian (my wife and one daughter are GF). The waiter sighed and we were told... More

Don't miss the best lasagne in Italy! All 12 of us agree that this is a "can't be missed" restaurant - and they are open during siesta!
