Ciao ! I moved , from Florence , to Chicago on 2007. My last time at " La Chiocciola " was on 2005. 9 years ago . While visiting my family , on Sept 2014 , I took a tour in Val D'Orcia and stopped here again. I was pleased to see them still there. VERY COMPETITIVE PRICES and DELICIOUS... More

I noticed large Italian families going into La Chicciola, on one of our visits to Pienza. I thought about it and realized it was a Sunday. Hm m . Sign of a good restaurant. I filed it away, and then in July 2014 I reserved a table for 18 on the shady terrace of this trattoria and crossed my fingers.... More

I noticed Trattoria La Chicciola a year ago while visiting Pienza. I noticed because it was a Sunday and large Italian families were pouring into the place. A VERY good sign! So this year, and guiding a group of 18 Americans, I made a reservation. Garden terrace table, in the shade, and sparkling when we arrived. That was just the... More

The location is not so good, just off the car park, but do not let the location put you off. The staff are extremely friendly and the food is very good. This place is always busy with Italians and reservations are advised at the weekends, but it is not always necessary. Defo worth a try if you are in the... More

Pretty expensive restaurant! Looks ok from the outside. We had high hopes because of the looks. It was a big disapointment. Tried the veal with redwine sauce, the sauce was red wine poured over the meat. Looked like pink vomit! The meat itself was cooked right bit it all tasted no good! My wife had veal with mushroom sauce, and... More

Our experience was superb with outstanding food at very affordable prices. The lamb chops were delicious with a hearty portion. Our seven year-old, a sometimes finicky eater, finished two platefuls of pasta and roasted chicken. The restaurant was charmingly decorated but what was truly exceptional was the kind and attentive service.

A truly awful experience - this was my choice on the last evening of our brief stay, and I had visions of it being a wonderful rustic tuscan restaurant. My wife had serious misgivings based on the look of it outside and the menu, but she went along with my hunch (not a frequent occurrence). Well this is why she... More

Terrible food and atmosphere. Fake flowers, sad waiters no apology for poor food. Low point of our stay in Pienza.

This was definitely our best find on our whole trip to Italy. We were one of the few people in the restaurant so the owners were very generous with showing us how the made their dishes. The steak was simply amazing cooked in the red wine. Chicken breasts with lemon were delicious as well. After we were done eating the... More

We found this trattoria just by chance. The service was quick, courtious and with a smile. The food was very good homemade fare. A place I would definately recommend to friends and family if they happen to be in that part of the world.
