Very good food

My husband and I found this Trattoria for lunch while wandering through Pienza. Great find! Food was good (especially their meat and cheese platter with home "grown" pecorino cheese). We had a fairly light lunch but was good at a good price. Service was good as well.

This will make just one more fine meal experienced at (in my opinion) one of the best representations of Tuscany food. If I am within one to two hours away I make a beline for Le Buca della Fate. Staff is great - Do it!

We went there for a dinner and we were very disappointed. We ordered a gnochhi and pasta for the first dish. We got our order in just a few minutes so we suspected that the food was already prepared. And we were right..gnochhi were just swimming in the oil ( this happens because they "release" oil , the pasta honestly... More

This is an attractive restaurant that gives one a sense of how the street level rooms in the large buildings in Pienza are arranged: vaulted ceilings, intimate cantinas, grand and not-so-grand connecting spaces...One enters in one space (by an attractive and small serving area and bar) and discovers several interesting chambers "around the corner." My wife and I began our... More

In Pienza looking for a wonderful meal we walked by La Buca delle Fate which was very busy with local Tuscan families having Sunday lunch. My daughter always says when in doubt go to the crowded place and this paid off even though we needed to wait 45 minutes. No problem exploring Pienza and stopping for a Campari Soda. It... More

We stayed around the corner and found this place by accident. What a treat! We ate there on numerous occasions for lunch and evening meal and were never disappointed. The local specialities were the best I have every had. The staff were friendly, helpful and never put pressure on us to hurry. Even the locals we met in Pienza ate... More

We were served in a little alcove which felt very private. We started with Pecorino cheese and meats followed by Pici with various sauces. No one was disappointed. They served new olive oil with out meal - unbelievably good. Wine was wonderful. It was a great lunch!

We called in to Pienza hoping to eat on the hotel terrace which was closed due to filming, the costumed actors were in most restaurants! We chose the Trattoria as it had an interesting and varied menu and sat next to an Abbott, his lady and two courtiers complete with period dress. This says it all about the atmospheric town... More

They were filming a movie in the center of town, so we walking in and out of side streets to find a restaurant, and we're thrilled with our find. Possibly the best so far in my husband's testing of coniglio in Italy, and likely the best pici pasta I had, incredibly fresh and perfectly cooked. They were busy, and the... More

We had dinner here with a group of friends who were staying nearby. We had a wonderful time as our waiter was really helpful choosing wines. Our food was good, too so it was a great meal.
