Local and great

We loved our evening at Baccus. We were welcomed as though we were long lost friends. The food was excellent, the wine delicious, and the room warm and cozy on a winter evening. But a real treat here were the people who shared their restaurant and food with us. The owner and the woman who took care... read more

What to say, Pienza is beautiful and this lunch matched. We had a wonderful meal, no negatives, all positive. We ordered the house wine, mixed salad, pecorino cheese tasting (awesome) to start, then pici pasta with meat and black truffle and my husband ordered sausage with marsala and onions. Everything was excellent, including the very friendly service. We were all... More

Went here for dinner with a party of 6 and what a meal! The onion soup was hot and sooo good followed by gnocchi with saffron was to die for. If in Pienza this is a must for a meal and lovely time. The owners were so kind

Absolutely make a reservation if you are dining in the evening. The night we dined here, many people were being turned away at the door since all tables were booked. We had a delicious dinner of local Tuscan dishes along with a nice bottle of wine for a very affordable price. A great find! Hint: Ask the owner for his... More

Great service. Came in late but could stay as long as we wanted. Bottle of limoncello on the table. Hardly charged. Food quality on average Tuscan style. Which means: delicious and not complicated. Great hospitality. Enjoy!

We received a warm welcome and felt very much at home. A place of real character and the senior waiter guided us to choosing an excellent pasta dish with truffles! A shaft of light on a wet day!

If you are ever fortunate enough to find yourself in Pienza L'Osterria Baccus is well worth a visit with a variety of ethnic Tuscan dishes on offer all presented in a distinctly individual style. The cheerful manner of the proprietor and his delight in engaging in humorous banter adds real atmosphere to the occasion. The ribollita soup comes particularly recommended

We have much admired this simple restaurant in the past, but during our last visit the food overall fell somewhat flat compared to previous visits. First, our waitress insisted that their cheese and honey plate with truffles was only enough for 2 people (we were a family of 5), and although I had it before and recall it being plenty... More

We were only Pienza for 2 nights and ate here on the first night. Had a truly splendid meal with good food and wine. Service was excellent. In fact it was so good, we went back the next night. Very welcoming and helpful staff.

Nice restaurant with both locals and tourists there. Some different preparations of typical tuscan food. We had pice cacao e pepe, Ribalitta and a nice crostone with local cheese and prosciutto- all delicious
