One of my best fish experience in my life

This restaurant is just exceptional! You will experience a wide range of fish dishes and especially a lot of tuna based ones! But there are also a lot of pasta dishes with are worth trying! I really enjoyed the Carbonara di mare and the pasta with mussels (cozze) and clums! Bottarga fillets (tuna... read more

This restaurant looks very cozy and colourfull. The pasta tasted very good and the staff was willing to give us some advice about the best places to visit on the island!

We came here for dinner after quizzing one of the locals where to do. Our table was located in a small alley outside the restaurant, which is typical for european places. The house wine was decent: I never expect too much but compared to the prices for bottles it was worth it. My pasta with tiny shrimps, cream, chopped fresh... More

A lovely warm evening, managed to reserve a table outside in this beautiful quiet (pedestrian only) street. Service was attentive and the food was really fresh and tasty.

Unfortunately we have to confirm last year disappointment. It was so good two years ago that we wanted to give them a second chance after last year flop. Tuna tartare was tuna in the blender (probably left over bits and pieces)... nothing else. It looked and tasted like baby food. Fritto calamari e gamberi was very poor. As far as... More

Is there anything worst than a restaurant which forgets a booking and than blames the customer? After facing the fact that they could find our booking anywhere, they start blaming us for calling the wrong number or setting the wrong date. The restaurant keeper showed no intention to solve the problem in any way. If you want to manage a... More

very large restaurant but they only seemed interested in serving you and turning the tables over quickly, despite the fact there were lots of other tables free.

I've been coming here for years as I have a house in Carloforte. I am never disappointed although I've learnt what to choose and what to avoid from the menu. Last week I eat a mixed starter of seafood including smoked tuna and swordfish, octopus carpaccio, and a tuna and tomato salad, all excellent. I avoid the fried fishballs which... More

Back to Galaia after a year. Still top of the list but nothing like the one we remembered. Being completely full-up didn't help, the welcoming family atmosphere is gone but most important the food has badly suffered! We were served very overcooked  spaghetti, tasty sauce but the pasta was so limp, acceptable maybe only to northern europeans! We don't like... More

We've been in Carloforte several times, discovered Galaia today thanks to Tripadvisor. It deserves to be n.1 The "spaghetti Galaia" were superb, nicely balanced and cooked to perfection, the "grigliata mista" was excellent and the lemon sorbet with mirto was a first. Large portions (we took some home), friendly service and good house wine. We paid 55 euro for the... More
