Consistently good

I go to Morrissey's regularly during the summer, it has never let me down. The food is of an extremely high quality, the prawns are to die for, the chowder even better. It can get very busy, just order a glass of wine and people watch while you wait!

I visited Morrisseys a few times for a drink during a short break in Doonbeg. It was always busy and appeared to get regular repeat business - always a good sign. We decided to dine there on our final evening and weren't disappointed. It isn't possible to book so arriving early is recommended. We only had to wait about 15... More

Always look forward to visiting Morrissey's several times on my annual trip home to Ireland & this year was no exception. The young owner & his staff are friendly & efficient, the atmosphere is relaxed & informal & the jumbo prawns are still the best anywhere with the crab claws a close second. However I was disappointed to find thst... More

When visiting Doonbeg we usually stop by here. Best to arrive early ( 6.30-7.30 ) as they don't accept bookings and to avoid disapointment. Waitress was really lovely and even got me the recipe for the fantastic brown soda bread ( The best I've ever had ) Service was fine and food delicious and reasonably priced. ( One small fault... Well worth a visit - food and service was very good, was on a motorcycle tour with a few lads and stayed the night in Doonbeg. Well varied menu, no issues with any special requests. Be warned - from what I saw, you have to have a reservation

Have eaten here as a couple and with kids. Food very good. Service when seated prompt and efficient. Nice ambience. Only issue I have is that bookings are accepted on a first come first served basis, was a little problematic with hungry kids on a busy Friday night. Tip : with kids come early! Recommended

We three had a super dinner at Morrissey's; charming space, friendly service and excellent food. Really top-notch. Try to get there a bit earlier, especially on weekends during high season. Worth a trip.
