Even though we aren't veggies we had heard good reports about the Third Eye we gave it a try and are so glad we did. The food was delicious and there was an amazing choice. Lots of frequent diners and a very welcoming atmosphere. The veggie lasagne and the mousaka are to be recommended. They even do half portions which... More

We were treated to an excellent meal of extravagant proportions on our 1st visit to the Third Eye. Make sure, if you go that you order carefully or that you are really starving! The food is excellent and the house wine very drinkable. Staff are courteous and attentive with a smattering of English, which is always useful for those of... More

Up a side street by the sandy beach, a meal here makes a lovely change to the usual Greek food. It does get quite busy so don't go too late in an evening. An alternative is the secret garden serving Asian food which is not closed as indicated on trip advisor

To start with when initially viewing the menu outside a day prior I was made to feel very uncomfortable by the owner. Them on the day my friends and I ate I was laughed at for asking about the contents of dishes and that attitude continued all the way throughout the dinner. the wine was very poor also. The worst... I have been to Paleochora a few times now, but this was my first visit to The Third Eye. We had a beer initially and then decided to eat. The food was mainly standard Cretan fare. ie Briam, ochra, potatoes, with the exception of a curry, which is a novelty in Crete, but not in Britain. We had three small plates and... More

badgered my partner to go as we were both disappointed with our previous nights meal, this was very tasty with a good selection of meals. He really enjoyed it and said it was the best meal we had in Paleochora- have to agree!

We went for the Sunday evening music night (folk and rembetika) and decided to follow the management advice and make a reservation. When we spoke to the person in the taverna to do so, we were not asked for our name, which seemed weird, as indeed it turned out to be the case. When we arrived at about 8:15 for... More

We usually travel to Chania when we visit Crete but make the trip to Paleochora just to enjoy the food at the Third Eye. There is a wide range of choices - we usually go for the spicier, Asian-influenced dishes but if you don't appreciate hot food there are plenty of other options for you. Absolutely delicious food, to be... More
