Wish we had checked the reviews before choosing this restaurant for our last meal in Normandy. Terrible terrible service; the waitress was rude and unpleasant so much so that we thought we must have done something wrong. She was fine and jolly with other customers, so can only assume that Le Petit Chaloupe is a tourist exclusion zone. The place... More

We didn't realise that everywhere else stopped serving by 9pm and so after searching found this little place. The soup was nice. The steak not so good and the creme caramel ok. Beer and wine ok and all reasonanly priced. We met the famed owner and she seemed fine once we spoke to her normally and offered a smile. She... More

Not a hint of warmth or pleasure in providing us our meal which when added to tasteless food left us feeling cheated. Having scanned Trip Advisor before leaving I knew the best restaurant in town had a blue facade but Sadly I chose the wrong one, be careful that you don't make the same mistake.

Should of known by the empty tables that it was one to avoid. Our choice from trip advisor was closed and we were Hungry so we gave it a go, it was a bad decision! The miserable face on the waitress said it all, we didn't expect gourmet dining so we ordered omelettes - thinking they can't muck these up... More

First of all. we would not have gone to this restaurant if we had not been shut out of our first choice . We wanted to go to "La Fleur de Sel" . I was a Saturday night and our first night in Port en Bessin and we did not have reservations. So we went around the corner and saw... More

Good fixed price menus and you can have meat dishes as a main course if you're fed up with fish. We had the 23 euro menu with soup de poisson, entrecote or lamb, then cheese then a desert and it was good value

Having eaten here before reading the tripadvisor reviews, were were supprised it rated so poorly. The lady who served us was pleasant enough and helpful in setting-up a table outside. The food was ok for the price, but some dishes could have been improved. The Salade piemontaise was quite good (at least better than one from Carrefour we had later... More

My friends and I chose this small restaurant in Port-en-Bessin for its look of French charm and its comprehensive list of gastronomic delights displayed in the window. On entering the restaurant we were greeted by a most historic figure. Obviously related to either Atilla the Hun or more like Vlad the Impaler. Her welcome greeting rather lacked a tad of... More
