One of the very few restaurants in this pretty little town, it is THE place to eat. A lovely outdoor setting was available, looking out over the vines, but the wind chill sent our group inside. A lovely setting with quiet classical music, excellent service and a delightful meal matched with lovely wines and coffee.

Had a planned stop for lunch whilst visiting a few Sauternes wineries. Centrally located in the region, just opposite the tourist office, this is an easy place to find. From the outside, it just looks like an ordinary country building. But walking through the dining hall, one emerges, on a glorious sunny day, into a pleasant terrace shaded by the... More

A lovely location sets this place apart - you can dine on the terrace overlooking the vines and one of the winemaking chateaus - on a summer evening it was very pleasant and relaxing. Food was excellent with some unusual combinations making for great choices. Good selection of local wines (naturally) and very good service.

Perhaps this is enough: We enjoyed our meal so much that we reserved for the next night too, something we rearely do on our travels. The menu is is not vast so the four of us got to taste most of what was offered during our two visits, both the entrees and main selections. I will just say this: the... More

Some gastronomic parings are not to be missed. A ripe Brie de Meaux with a glass of Fleurie is hard to beat. Fried bacon and a cup of strong breakfast tea is also a must. But the combo of a glass of Yquem with an inventive take on the classic Foie Gras starter was sublime. And when the is wine... More

We had dinner here on a hot summers evening. We sat outside overlooking the vineyards. I think the setting is better than the food. When we booked they asked us if we are bringing children, they are not to keen. They said the people coming here comes for the tranquility. So we were worried but there was other tables with... More

We have eaten here 4 times and have never been disappointed. It is lovely to sit outside, but, due to weather, this time we dined inside and it was wonderful

We stopped in Sauterne on the way to the Chateau de Roquetaillade based on a restaurant review from the Michelin guide. Lunch was great, the menu offered good choices - duck, fresh fish (bar), smoked salmon, fine dessert. We sat on the patio on a warm day overlooking the vines and the relaxing landscape. There is not much to see... More

We ate here two years ago and have lovely memories of eating very good food accompanied by an excellent glass of Sauternes whilst sitting looking out over the vineyard and chateau. However, this time we were disappointed. The location and the bottle of Sauternes were both excellent, but the food was not of the same standard. A starter of smoked... More
