Having just arrived in town via the dusty road, we happened upon this unassuming restaurant fronted by a construction ditch and next to a supermarket. Having no expectations, we were amazed at the incredibly creative farm to table creations by this very talented chef. Don't miss it!

We have been raving about David and his wonderful restaurant ever since we came across Trio in June. Located beside the supermarket, we were skeptical when we walked up the stairs, but upon crossing into the warm atmosphere, we were already enthralled. Nice music, a warm smile, and clean, clear lines made us feel at home. This is not your... More

The ingredients were fresh, all local! The flavors were distinctive. The chef and waiter very friendly. The location is central but not in the glare. You will not regret eating here!

The restaurant was recommended by our hotel, amongst others but we didn't expect such am amazing place. The food was excellent, plates were presented very nicely. Meat was perfectly cooked. All products where local. Last but not least, service was excellent, full of attention., passion and smile.

Found that restaurant by chance, looked at the menu and decided to try it. We arrived early so had all the attention of the waiter in a cosy and quiet place. We have even been allowed to smoke on the terrace while drinking our fresh cocktails (smoking is prohibited almost everywhere in Costa Rica). Food was tasty and very well... More

We've been to Costa Rica on many occasions. However, we've never been to Monteverde. David Porras' concept is refreshing. We had the Roasted Mango and Heart of Palm salads. They were delicious and fresh. For the main dish: Beefsteak Manchego and the Pork Ribs. The presentation and taste were excellent...and so "suave"! For dessert, David's "abuelita's" rice pudding. All in... More

We came to this place with average expectations to have dinner. We were amazed by how delicious and well presented the dishes were. This is a restaurant that is well in line with some of our favorite restaurants we've ever been to. We had the chance to spend a good time with the chef who was very friendly and told... More

Wow, what can I say bit fantastic. We ate at Trio and had the tenderloin with chimmichirri and the one with manchego! They were both awesome. The best steak, full of flavour and complimented by the flavours chef David Porras introduces to the meat. Well worth a visit, your taste buds will thank you! It was truly a great meal!

We were so impressed by the presentation and the quality of our meal that we sent our compliments to the chef, David Porras, who graciously came upstairs to the dining room to chat with us. David takes his profession very seriously and has studied food preparation on the cutting edge, so he was very interesting to talk to. He has... More
