Something superior

My husband and I did several wine tastings in the area. This was our favourite. We got the shared platter with matching wines and loved it. Service was perfect; genuine and efficient. Jack the dog was lovely. Absolutely recommend.

We went to Wild Earth for lunch after a recommendation by New Zealand Awaits tour company and were thrilled we did. We had the tasting dishes with the matching wines and loved all of it. We were so impressed we followed up with the tasting desserts and wines. The food top quality and the service and knowledge by the young... More

Really excellent - go for the shared lunch tasting plate with wines - you won't be disappointed. Smoked game - hare, paua and goat - and interesting sides. The wines are excellent - esp the pinot noir and they have older vintages - 2010, 2011 etc. Loved it for its originality and quality - 9 out of 10.

We stopped en-route from Cromwell to Queenstown at Wild Earth, deciding to check out what was on the menu... we were not disappointed by the 5 course platter for two. Seated outside overlooking the gorge was a bonus too as the weather was fine.

We just had a couple of cappuccinos while we waited for a guided tour of the Minefields Centre (part of the same complex). Nice coffee and very pleasant staff member.

We came here after a dreary experience down the road at Gibbston Valley Cheese. SO GLAD!!! Cross the spectacular river on a high footbridge and settle at an outdoor table looking over the gorge. Although the kitchen was closing when we arrived, the friendly staff were happy for us to have a cheese tasting plate and a glass of wine.... More

We called in for a light meal & had tapas. They were so yummy with a great range of choice & far from a tiny portion size. The service was excellent & friendly. They have great wine tasting with platters, we didn't have time to try these, but will be back at some point to try. The location is stunning.... More

We stopped here after "no room at the Inn" at Mt Difficulty Vineyard and we are so glad we did. Wild Earth is nestled next to the Kawarau river in a lovely spot just off the main road. We found the staff helpful and informative, the atmosphere relaxed but professional and the food AHHHMAAAAZING! We had the Oak Stave for... More

We came here as part of a wine tasting tour and what a spectacular lunch. The well prepared and innovative dishes are matched with their wines and boy are thy good. Reached by a bridge over the river, the restaurant is light and airy and outdoor seating is a must on a warm day. Just superb.

We stopped by for a light lunch and had two items from their "taster menu". Friendly service and excellent food.
