We sat inside as although a sunny day the outside seating was too shaded for the beautiful autum day. Staff were friendly, attentive and knew their food and wine matches. The 5 tasting choices served on a stave(a part from a barrel) was superb. The choices were paua, hare, venison, salmon and goat, with a saffron couscous salad, all available... More

Arguably the best rustic cellar door food and wine experience in NZ. We came for a quick lunch and left 5 hours and 2 bottles later. A truly unique experience. Food was exceptional with presentation to match (not to mention the unique staves). Wine is good with the reserve pinot a clear standout and well worth trying. The staff and... More

We were recommended Wild Earth by our B&B at Wanaka . Besides the wine flight for two - which was excellent value for money , we shared some tapas. The tapas was divine in taste and presentation on flat stones . The wine flight for two came in an interesting wooden stand . Pop in here -- very worth it... More

This is the best eatery in Central Otago! And if we include Queenstown in the mix, we'd say it's a second after Amisfield in terms of small dishes or tapas style meals. 1st in terms of affordability too. Do check it out. Well worth it. Just get the Oak Stave with matching wines. Yum!

One to absolutely go to. Such delicious tapas style food. Paua..venison..hare..lamb..salmon..goat. just something truly unique and special. The owner is delightful wise and accommodating. The ambience is worth experiencing as you cross the bridge to a lovely rustic setting. Strong selections of wines... we felt the pinot gris was worthy of another glass. A must go to if in Queenstown.

Once again Quinton's team laid on fabulous service, food and wine. We had the stave and wine matching, great pricing... we even tried the desert matching which is unusual as we aren't really sweet people. The chocolate peanut brownie... ohhh to die for.

We have been to this restaurant a year and a half ago and we loved the tasting stave with the paired wines, it was divine! So we went back again this time, and we were impressed again and this time, we also had the dessert stave - it was amazing. Well done team and thanks to Chelsea for the friendly... More

We had a delicious early lunch sat outside in the glorious sunshine on our journey from Queenstown to Mt Cook. We found the service here to be really good and very helpful in deciding upon our selection of the stave which comprised Paua, Wild Hare, Salmon, Venison, and Lamb. Great wines too - less than a glass in total which... More

My husband and I did several wine tastings in the area. This was our favourite. We got the shared platter with matching wines and loved it. Service was perfect; genuine and efficient. Jack the dog was lovely. Absolutely recommend.
