Warm and cosy pub for Lunch

It was another cold winter's day except there was an icy chill in the air and my wife and I wanted a warm place for lunch. After much walking around in Cromwell, we came across The Brew House. What a pleasant find! The staff were welcoming, the place was WARM and cosy and the lunch was just what... read more

Excellent food, Got a takeaway meal with a pineapple ring was nice and crisp not soggy. Chips tasted fresh and must of been cooked in fresh oil. Hoki had a nice flavour to it was also nice and crispy. Was quick service. Staff were happy to help definatley worth the money for the amount of food i got. This meal... More

Starving after a stint at the Highlands Go Karts (lots of fun!) two friends and I popped in here for lunch - and so glad we did. Raspberry and cokes were on point, as was the garlic bread we had as a starter. I love nachos but am always cautious about ordering them as it really is a gamble as... More

Excellent food. Even put garlic bread on us at lunch despite not being on menu. Food pretty good. Very disappointed burgers didn't come with fries? Quite unusual. presentation of food lacking a wee bit. some sauce on cheesecake would have been nice touch, but very good anyway! Wait staff was fun and had a wee joke around with us making... More

Stopped in for an evening meal, great wee bar with really good food. Pub style meals but plenty of it and good value. Good wines and a nice cosy wee bar/bistro. Staff very very good and service was good and no great delays in food arriving. Would go there again

Hubby and I decided to to try this place as we hadn't been before. Probably wouldn't go back. I had the pork belly.... wouldn't recommend. Crackling was chewy and inedible let and the pork was fatty and tough, very disappointing. Hubby enjoyed the fries that were with his burger.

The portions of food were very large - I wanted something light so I had a chowder but it was incredibly filling. All the food was very good but the sauce with the mussels could have been thicker. Friendly staff who made sure we didn't leave just because they didn't have a table then and there.

After 3 weeks travelling in NZ, and generally having good dining experiences, it came as a shock to find places like this still exist. Service was surly and appallingly slow (45 minutes wait for simple pub grub). When the food (fish and chips) arrived, the fish was poor quality and badly cooked, and the chips were soggy. The whole meal... More

Handy place to eat but basic pub grub. If you pick a busy evening you could have to wait for your food. Sports bar, so be prepared for tv screens all around. You can eat outside if the weather is good to escape them.

That's my biggest complaint, cameras on the toilet, wrong, just wrong. I was intending on eating at 7 but this place was all that was open. $8 for a 440ml of speights is not a very funny joke, it's speights! Nothing special, and neither is the bar so 8$!? The food was OK, they were really run off their feet... More
