lovely warm welcome and good food

This was a family gathering and I had pre booked a table. When we arrived we were met straight away and offered a table. We had a lovely view from the window and settled in with our menu's. Having ordered we settled down to wait for our meals with a drink. The meals started to come out, most of... read more

Stunning location, friendly staff and some of the best views in the "Wye". Food is generally very good and the breakfast was excellent. Rooms can be a bit iffy depending on where yours is situated.

Hard to fault this place these days - really enthusiastic and pleasant owners, great food and lovely views of the river. One of my favourite pubs (and trust I've been to more than a few!)

I was here to celebrate a birthday with five other family members. We had booked a table in the restaurant, but were led to a table in the bar area. We all ordered starters and mains. Five of the starters arrived after an enormous wait. My starter did not arrive. After ten minutes, I asked where my starter was and... More

20 of us booked for an evening meal. The staff and service were very good, and all of us praised the quality of the food. Nice old pud in a beautiful location. Well worth a visit when you are in the area

We walked down for an evening drink on a Sunday afternoon. It was a bit quiet with a small sign saying that it would be closing at 5pm. Managed to grab a drinks and crisps. Can't say that the greeting was the most friendly - bit grumpy in fact. Local beer was good. Outside seating was great with lovely views.... More

We went with my sister and her children for Lunch. Great location the food was OK but I cant say it was a warm and friendly atmosphere. I found the manager or whoever was in charge a little off hand to say the least, fortunately the serving staff were friendly so we stayed. Otherwise we would have gone somewhere else.... More

10 of us visited on a Tuesday lunchtime - 6 adults and 4 children - during our family holiday in symonds yat east. The pub was a ferry ride and a pleasant 10 min walk for us. We loved the relaxed, cosy atmosphere of the pub and the menu had something for everyone, including some quite fussy eaters amongst us!... More

We loved the setting right on the river. Staff were really helpful and the inside is great too. You can take the dog in the area with flagstones or outside. Fairly standard menu and pub fare - large portions and all fresh and well cooked but nothing amazing on the menu beyond the usual. Still worth a visit as long... More
