Really friendly staff. We visited on a wet and windy day. Sat outside with dog under shelter. Had a lovely bar meal and beer good.

Lovely little pub along the riverside. Beautiful location. Clean environment. Welcoming staff. Delicious food. The scotch egg to share with chilli jam was out of this world. Good service throughout. Worth a visit or two if in the area. Will definitely be returning.

We booked a table for 2 and we were made aware they were expecting a big party so to get there early to get our orders in. We didn't realise we would be sat in the bar area which was ok the seat I sat on was rather high for the table which made me feel slightly exposed and uncomfortable... More

We ate in a large party for a business event recently. The pub is very nice, traditional with a modern twist but the parking is very, very tight. The local real ale was very good, fresh tasting, suggesting nice clean pipes. The service was only OK, we were seated at 19:00 but only got our starters at 20:15 (although we... More

As the title states we popped in for lunch as staying up the road in the Royal lodge. The lodge is being refurbished and lacked atmosphere and an open bar! We both had baguettes which were huge and beautifully presented, with delicious fillings. We booked to come back in the evening and WOW!! Home made scotch eggs to die for,... More

We visited the Saracens around 3pm on Saturday. The pub was lovely but packed out with tourists. Only food available at this time was sandwiches and baguettes which was a little disappointing. The pub itself was very pleasant with extremely helpful staff but parking was a bit of a nightmare.

First and foremost , congratulations to the staff, very helpful and attentive, couldn't do enough for us. The food was great and what a good atmosphere. The rooms look well worth a visit (which we shall do)

Have been here several times and food is always great although portion sizes seem to be getting smaller! The venison was really good but two small pieces is not enough for the price. Excellent monkfish risotto. This is first time we have felt the service has been below par - very pleasant staff but other than the main waitress they... More
