I visited with a friend I hadn't seen for ages. Lovely setting and nicely furbished. Staff were lovely and although busy we were offered a table. The menu was quite fancy lots of jus etc but I do like something different, but my friend and I agreed our partners would not have liked it as apart from steak and chips... More

Symonds Yat is such a beautiful place to visit on a sunny spring evening and what makes it even better is The Saracens Head. It was packed on a Tuesday night, as the sun was shining, but we did manage to get a table in the bar area. At first glance, the menu seemed quite expensive. However, the prices matched... More

We were staying at the Forest of Dean lodges and ended up here twice for lunch out of the weekend, firstly on the Friday and sat outside for a baguette and plough mans lunch and then so good we decided to book a table for Sunday lunch which was also very good, a choice of roast beef, lamb or pork... Great, relaxed, informal place - dog (bar and terrace only) and child friendly. Food superb and reasonably priced - not your typical inn grub. Staff are friendly, couteous and knowledgeable about the area. But the best bit is being taken back to the other side of the river by the ancient hand-pulled boat (free if you eat there) by star-light.... More

The staff were very good and the meal was delicious!! Not cheap not expensive either!! We had the pie, mash and veg with gravy, it was so tasty, and presentation was lovely. Well worth a visit but not during busy times!!

We were lucky enough to visit on a beautiful day and have the opportunity to sit outside. The menu was great and the portion sizes fair. The ordering process seemed a bit strange having to walk around the bar to order food and then drinks separately, but I assume this helps durning very busy periods. The beer was well kept... More

It was very busy here on this sunny Saturday but we parked easily, found a table outside - by the river - and service was excellent. The best part of coming here is the quiet walk about 1.5 miles up the river to Biblin's, where a tiny suspension bridge takes you across. Back down the other side to Simmons Yat... More

Recently booked a table for four and we were delighted with quality of food and service. The fish platter to share as a starter was delicious as were all the mains. I had rack of lamb, steaks were good too. Puddings evidently home made and time taken to ensure they looked really appealing. Given the opportunity we will be back!
