Wonderful riverside lunch

As a family, we spend a lot of time at The Saracens Head, usually after a long walk along the riverside. The food is no frills, but beautifully presented and cooked. Service is expedient, but the best part is being able to relax with a drink and a light lunch by the river in a sunny day.

We had a good lunch of good standard, it has a nice feel to it, and the staff are friendly and helpful. with some good ales on tap. Can recommend this place.

Lovely location, but the food was very average. Some of the bar staff were charming, but one was rude beyond belief to a customer who took a little longer than expected counting out change.

The food was OK, we both had the faggots, which were a bid dry. The location is superb on the river Wye. They offer a

My brother and his partner live near Symonds Yat, have been to the Saracens Head many times and consistently raved about it. They took me there last night for a birthday meal and I was very much looking forward to trying the food, which I had heard such good things about. The evening didn't get off to the best start.... Fabulous location by the river. Can sit inside or out. Had a very good lunch here and wished we could have gone back for dinner but sadly no time. The staff were friendly and service was fairly quick. Prices were about right for the standard of the food which was enjoyed by us both. Would definitely go back.

After a 5 mile walk we arrived at the Saracens Head for a much needed drink and meal. They have a range of at least 6 real ales (I sampled 3 during my time there....all excellent) and have a lunch and dinner menu. Unfortunately the restaurant was fully booked for the evening so we had to settle for lunch only.... More

Visited the Inn on a couple of occasions, although not to eat. The Inn has a great choice of lagers, ales and ciders. It is in a beautiful location by the river with its own "hand ferry" to help you cross from one side to the other. Plenty of seating by the river to enjoy the scenery. Recommended.

Had a lovely lunch at The Saracens after taking a river cruise. Sat on the terrace overlooking the river, a beautiful location. Food was very nice, good portions and reasonably priced.

Fantastic location along the river Wye, but if you want to eat here you will have little chance as we resently found out. We called in early on Friday night after traveling all day to find all the tables reserved - empty but reserved all the same. When we asked about Saturday night we got the same answer from the...
