Still a great pub.

Haven't visited this great pub in years. Visited recently on a break to Symonds Yat , Ross on Wye. Still charming, pretty, and beautifully managed including the prompt service taking us across the river on the hand ferry. Staff very friendly. Food nice & well presented. Not as much choice as I... read more

Visited here whilst staying locally on campsite for the night and thought it was great. We were staying at Dowdes park (see other review) which is about a billion miles away up a near vertical valley side (note to self, stay flatter next time). It was one hell of a walk to get there but it felt like an adventure... More

Visited here on a wet afternoon. Pub was busy, but had plenty of friendly staff. We were to late for hot meals but had a variety of sandwiches and baguettes. All tasty and reasonably priced. Great position. And Dog Friendly!!

Lovely location, although not the easiest by car. It's a great place to while away the afternoon / early evening watching the world go by along the Wye. Having visited a few times and had some of their light bites they're not quite hitting 10/10 on the food...although it's just the details that let them down (don't get me wrong... More

This inn has it all, location, service, food. I had the most amazing cod dish I have ever tasted. The service was supreme and the staff combined an informal friendly yet professional approach

The food was fantastic as was the staff and the chef. Great selection of beers and everyone was very friendly indeed. Everyone who walks through the door is made to feel extremely welcome.

I've been here several times, at different times of the year. Its lovely in the summer to sit outside by the river, but its equally lovely to sit inside on a cold winter's day. The food is always great and they have a good range of drinks. I can't eat wheat and the staff couldn't be more helpful. They go... More

My husband and I travel from bristol to this pub in a reasonably regular basis. We've eaten there many times and stayed over as we love the pub and the area. We had lunch on this occasion, we had sandwiches which were lovely but the chips were awful... Really greasy and as though the oil needed changing. I did mention... More

What a lovely weekend we had. Camped on the site next to the Saracens on the Friday night which was very peaceful then had lunch on Saturday. We chose the sea food sharer, it was superb, great mix of shellfish, crab, mackerel pate etc. We also had sides of chips, feta & cous cous salad and a leaf salad, all... More
