My friend and I popped in for a couple of drinks after a day fishing the Wye. The welcome was warm, barstaff friendly and the beers were very good. No complaints from us and nobody gave us a second glance despite the fact that we were still in our fishing attire. Everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves. I've read the... More

I've stayed here many times as a business traveller & have found the location very handy for my various meetings. The A40 is nearby & gives you fast access to Gloucester, Cheltenham & South Wales. I've just stayed another night here whilst on business in South Wales & really appreciated the hospitality of the staff & owners as well as... More

We were staying 10 minutes away and everytime we researched places to eat this place came up with positive reviews. We came here on a Wednesday lunch time after we had gone for a walk nearby. You can eat outside with your dogs and enjoy the view. We sat inside and the ambience is lovely with the log effect fire.... More

My wife and I had an evening meal here on 04/10/14. We were shown to our table swiftly on arrival in a nice corner of the restaurant, complementary bread and water on the table. Service was attentive and polite, we were not left waiting for anything. We both enjoyed our main courses very much, dessert was very nice, highlight was... More

Our family group of 10 had a good lunch here prior to going for a cruise on the River Wye.The service was reasonable and there was a good range of dishes to select from.Slightly overpriced but the pub is in a fairly remote situation.

Great looking menu, if slightly higher priced than a regular town pub but that was understandable given its remote location and lack of competition from other pubs. The menu was extensive with lots of interesting variety and choices. Unfortunately I couldn't finish my fish and chips because, whilst generous in size, I really couldn't taste anything apart from the batter.... More

We were ready for lunch after a long walk. Knowing we were eating dinner we opted for sandwiches only. Beautiful soft fresh bread with loads of filling. One of the staff had baked for Macmillan coffee morning so we then had two cakes. Delicious. A lovely idea and not one I have seen done in a pub before. Staff were... More

Walked to the Saracens Head from Symonds Yat. A very steep walk but well worth it to visit this lovely pub. Nice selection of real ales and a beautiful view over the river. We didn't eat here on this occasion. Well worth a visit.
