We have been to this restaurant twice with groups of college students and each time it has been fantastic! It is certainly well regarded in the region and clearly a local favorite. The owner is very accommodating to large groups. We can speak highly enough about this restaurant.

A place where locals go for good food. You are made to feel right at home and part of the family. We went for dinner there twice and both times the food was outstanding. Definitely reserve a table before going.

A fine local restaurant, great food and atmosphere, many wild game offerings (rabbit, pigeon) and great traditional selections as well. Only a short drive from Florence, but well worth the trip. Dine late (certainly after 8) to get the full experience. Young children might not be comfortable with the experience but teenagers likely will.

This restaurant is a local gem! The food was so spectacular that we went for dinner one night and then for lunch the next day instead of going into Florence. You definitely need to go on an empty stomach! Couldn't recommend more!

As an Italian who used to spend my childhood in Tuscany, before moving to Australia, I was looking forward to a wholesome Tuscan meal. This place did not disappoint. My partner ordered a bistecca fiorentina as well as the sausages, whilst I really enjoyed the taglierini with porcini. Delicious and definitely delicate, not at all overwhelming, particularly if watered down... More

Finally returning to Toscana, well passing by...we ended up here for a quick lunch. Not being a regular meat eater but when Im in this region there is no way around the Fiorentina steak...had it with potatoes and it was perfect! Perfectly cooked and the potatoes fresh with a lot of garlic! My companion had a green peasoup made out... More

By default when an other restaurant we had planned was closed for lunch....a friend with us suggested this trattoria right outside of Scandicci...but still a suburb ...for lack of a better word of Florence. WHAT A WONDERFUL DECISION THIS WAS!!!!! From the moment we walked down the traffic free street with its wonderful antique feel and charm and entered this... More

I wanted to have a proper Fiorentina on my trip to Florence with my colleagues from the wine industry and restaurant industry from South Africa. A very good friend from Florence had very little hesitation and told me "you can only go to Mario to eat the proper Fiorentina nowadays". Well, it turns out that Mario has unfortunately passed away... More

This restaurant has undoubtedly the best steak you can eat in Italy. "Fiorentina" from the Chianina cow really should be rare to enjoy the rich flavor. Staying at the the Villa Pandolfini, we were anxious to try the local cuisine and this steak is quite the memory maker. We'll never, ever forget the size (it covers your plate), the thickness... "Fiorentina" is a kind of steak (a big one, from 800g to above 1kg ....) from a specific cow breed the "Chianina". The fiorentina MUST be rare. Been there with 3 kids. Reasonable price and staff prone to understand the "family issues": kind with kids (they loved the place). Overall not to be missed.
