This restaurant has a lovely ambience with a calm and relaxed atmosphere. The setting is lovely, tucked away in the cobbled streets of Anghiari. The decoration inside is intriguing, the restaurant 's walls are packed with traditional old wine bottles and lovely posters, old pictures and photographs. The food is original, authentic and of high quality. Both times I have... More

We've dined here several times, and always enjoyed ourselves - warm and friendly owners, delicious and inventive food. Sylvia also conducts cooking classes, which are also highly recommended, though my efforts at home can't quite match the real thing!

The only restaurant for miles around where you can't do better at home. Delicious food, very good service, first class wines and friendly ambience - I wish I could eat here every day!

Came here with a group of friends, some of whom live in the area. Beautiful surroundings and the owners who served us were exceptionally warm and friendly. My orange/fennel salad was terrific. The pan brioche caldo con verdure di stagione was delicious. The bread basket was outstanding and all homemade. I thought my pasta/tartufo dish could have been more al... More

Gracious hosts, amazing food, very good wines...and the largest dog—usually sleeping just outside the kitchen on the little pedestrian street, just off the main piazza.

What a wonderful place this is! A charming restaurant with walls lined with bottles and hand painted platters, but, as it should be, it is all about the food. Locally sourced and freshly cooked. The flavours were superb. Every dish delighted- from the simple crostini to the truffle topped souffle. Don't miss the barley risotto or the beef fillet with... More

We had the best meal of our Tuscany travels in this charming restaurant. Despite the menagerie on the menu, we discovered a treasure trove of delicious delights for those of us who prefer cruelty-free, compassionate cuisine. What an unexpected surprise when the chef/owner Silvia greeted us with a warm welcome to establish what kind of meal we had in mind.... More

We chose this restaurant on the basis of the TA comments and we were glad we did. It is a pleasant restaurant off the main square in a charming medieval village. The chef, Sylvia, discusses the menu (homemade Tuscan food) with you in perfect English and cooks it superbly. It s one of the nicest restaurants in this part of... More

We stopped there while traveling with our two mothers who are not used to paying the usual higher prices to eat well in Europe. After a succession of days where our dining experiences were chosen mainly by price, it was a joy to encounter Da Alighiero in this beautiful little hillside village, where the prices were not too offputting to...
