Once you enter the elegant coffe-bar you can't imagine to be a few steps away from one of the oldest olive oil factory of the area. A few steps below street level a cave nowadays hosts the restaurant. The kind waitress explained that it used to be a hidden underground olive oil press (frantoio ipogeo). The whole Ostuni was born... More

So tasty and comes complete with info about the olive oil making that took place in this exact location many years ago. Fabulous pasta and fish! I ordered the local fish and it was spectacular!

Decided to eat here after perusing the menu display outside and was amazed when we were shown through the front tables to a cave......Great service and fabulous food added to the occasion and we enjoyed some wonderful local dishes including squid in spaghetti and 'Stinko' which is a slow roasted lamb shank. A thoroughly enjoyable evening which I look forward... More

This restaurant is in a cave so the setting is very unusual. The service was very attentive, the staff could not have been more welcoming or helpful. The food was great, we had lobster pasta which was very good. The beef carpaccio and steaks were also excellent. Not the cheapest of our meals in Ostuni but well worth a visit... More

We were looking for somewhere to have lunch away from the tourist centre of Ostuni and spotted the Caffe Cavour as we walked up the road. It's easy to miss!!! We were the only diners - though I can see it being a very popular evening venue. A super setting, being the oldest olive mill in Puglia, apparently, and the... More

Based on reviews here, we visited for dinner tonight. Lovely venue, and very nice welcome. Food was actually the most expensive of our stay in Ostuni but was good, not great. Starters of beef carpaccio, vegetable and bacon soufflé and artichoke and truffles. These we're very nice. Mains of fresh grilled fish, grilled tuna, and pasta with tomatoes for our... More

We went here due to reviews on Trip Advisor and we're blown away by the restaurant itself even before we ate. It's a natural cave which was used to make olive oil for hundred of years and the signs are still there; the man made hole in the ceiling for the olive press, the rings in the wall for the... More

We visited this restaurant after reading good reviews. We were not disappointed. The food was fantastic and cooked with such care. Delicious. The cave like interior was amazing. The story behind how the olives were ground into oil in that space hundreds of years ago added further to the atmosphere. Highly recommend

We're in Ostuni, Puglia, Italy, we've many tips for lunch, but we decided to go to Cafe Cavour to take a look. We like it: the entrance is normal and the owner conducted us to the table inside a small cave. She told us that she'll prepare our food and gave to me a suggestion to try sliced artichokes with... A good professionally run restaurant in a town overrun with run-of-the mill tourist restaurants where the food and service don't always match the pretty presentation. The food at the Caffe Cavour and the service are excellent. It comforts one with the feeling of being a valued client in a proper restaurant.
