Elegant gentleman had mentioned the restaurant to us

Wonderful antipasti sharing plate for three - each dish that arrived was absolutely delicious. We also had tasty olive bread presented warm.

This restaurant was a little hard to find because it is tucked away on a little alley way in the old section of the town of Ostuni and the sign was covered with growing vines. It was worth the effort. We sat outdoors and were seated at a table that was located down a flight of stairs on a patio... More

We just found this place walking through the wonderful narrow streets of Ostuni. We were impressed about the location so we decided to stop by. Thanks God we did! Wonderful food. We shared the "pasta nera" dish which is simply divine. Perfect service.

We had seen this lovely terrace in 2013, and we were impressed, so we wanted to take our chances, in spite of the mixed reviews, and go there, particularly since the location is quite impressive. We don't like to dress up during holidays (we like to wear nice and clean clothes, but not elegant clothes). Apparently, although they don't state... More

"Dear", I well remember you.. First of all, there's no reason why you should start the review justifyng tour clothes, because as you wrote WE DON'T STATE about clothing! Oh... Or maybe you felt inappropriate and inadequate, looking to all the other customers? This is not our problem.. About the "perfect italian" you shoud speak/understand: the waiter took the ordination... There are many restaurants in Ostuni, however few have the special ambience of Taverna della Gelosia. It is located on one of the pedestrian paths off Via Cathedrale. We parked just above the Villa Comunale park where the monthly antique market is held and took a leisurely 10 minute walk to the restaurant for our Sunday lunch. There is seating... More

In the cramped side streets of Ostuni, its worth seeking this restaurant out. Down steep steps to a scattering of outdoor tables sheltered under the shade of old wisteria, we had a five minute wait, then received the attention of our waiter. He advised us on the antipasti selection, explained the menu in detail, and what we chose was wonderfully... More

This was my favorite of all the great places we ate whilst on holiday in Puglia this September. A wonderful and romantic, peaceful setting, tucked away in the beautiful winding streets of old ostuni; we ate outside with the wonderful lighting down the white washed stairs. I had some amazing fish, so not sure why other reviewers seem to think... More

Our party of four had a really good meal at this restaurant. The dining areas are down flights of steps and it would be an excellent place for a romantic meal. The menu is predominately based on meat and vegetable dishes. The antipasti is superb and our main courses were excellent. Waiters are very helpful and friendly as was mine... More
