Must go but hard to get to.

We were lucky as we had a friend drive us but if you can find a day tour from Messina, it's well worth it. The cathedral or Sanctuary is beautiful, we were able to gain access to the original church at the back which has the famous view talked about in the story of Tindari. We were lucky as we had a friend drive us but if you can find a day tour from Messina, it's well worth it. We were brought here by our private boat captain we had hired for the day to tour the islands. The restaurant came highly recommended by the captain's friends, although he had never been there. We tried this restaurant after reading the reviews on trip advisor and found it to be all we wished for. We were greeted by Maria herself, now 86 who still keeps an eye on everything .
