I booked lunch at L’escalier for Saturday 28th December on-line while in the UK. Somehow I failed to communicate successfully to the restaurant my mobile number. This meant that they were unable to tell me that on the day of our visit they were only offering a restricted menu – a traditional German Christmas goose and red cabbage. Unfortunately I... More

A delight. Superb food of the highest quality. Very creative use of ingredients and flavours. Very caring multilingual staff who understood and anticipated our needs really well. A top class restaurant - think Club Gascon in London (only better value). If ever a restaurant deserves a Michelin star - this is it. Personal attention from the Chef/owner much appreciated. We... A friend and I had dinner a saturday and the restaurant was full. The waitor was charming, and even though it took a while before we got the menu and our orders were take - it was soon forgotten. We went there with three people and our bill ran up to 83 euros without water or wine or dessert! Wehad to wait a long time before our meals came though the place was empty for lunch, but the waitress claimed the were always fully booked for dinner. If don't want to waste your money, go somewhere else to eat!

Went here with work on a business trip and must say it was the worst time at a restaurant I have ever had. Service - Arogant. Our French waiter refused to let me order a beer. He kept telling me that he was pairing wines for me with dinner. Last time I checked I was the customer. Not only that... More

The restaurant's interior is plain, modern, and somewhat comfortable. The menu offers good, mainly French cuisine. Blameless ingredients are prepared equally flawless, but they somehow lack a certain "twist" of flavors and creativity. Very good wine list with exciting offerings.
