Exceptional steak - easily cut with a butter knife. My hubby said it was one of the best steaks he's ever had. Tiramisu also excellent. Broccoli with almond butter delish. Duck overly sweet - I didn't care for the glaze at all. Coconut rice cake that it came with was good though.

Visited this restaurant at the end of a two week tour of the South Island and were blown away by the standard of food and service. So much so that we went back two nights in a row. Undoubtably the best restaurant we have dined out at for many years. Keep it up guys! We will make a point of... More

We are regulars at No31 and never have we been disappointed. The service is impeccable, the team is great and always welcoming. But the food, yes the food is pretty amazing. Quality and freshness, help the mix of texture and flavours to provide the best food in town. Thank you to Helen and Michael for your exceptional professionalism.

It was a cold Friday night and we had a lovely warm welcome, the food was amazing, not cheap by any means, but you pay for quality.

Wow. We loved this restaurant! Warm, inviting and delicious on a cold winters night. The menu is impressive and we struggled to choose what we wanted purely because everything sounded so good. We indulged in an entree, main and dessert eachand loved every bite. Our waitress did a great job and was very pleasant. Compliments to the chef also. Highly... More

A long time since we were in Hanmer and the recommendation of Cafe 31 came up trumps! This Cafe was warm and inviting and although we arrived early for our reservation we were seated without delay. The Cafe had a good buzz, service helpful and staff attentive. Menu whilst not overly large is varied and appropriate the the season and... More
