The lunch specials are a spectacular deal. For under $20 total I had fresh grouper and my wife had the biggest shrimp she'd ever seen. Generous serving size, plus included beverages. Beans and rice might be 'bland' but it is authentic.

We ate dinner here on a Saturday night after seeing a copy of the impressive menu at our nearby hotel. The restaurant is about a block south of the plaza square. When we walked into the restaurant there was only one other couple there dining and no staff came to greet us. Just as we were about to walk out,... More

Had lunch with several people, ordered an appetizer, got charged for two because they said there are 5 in your party and one was not enough! Really! Maybe they did not want it or we would order more, don't take it upon yourself to order more and not ask!I will say though the lunch specials are good, and the good... More

We ate lunch here after it was recommended by a local. The food was all right, but not outstanding. The service was good. I will say that the chicken with garlic sauce was the highlight of our meal. The rice and beans were the least enjoyable we had all week; not bad, just bland.

You know how every time you go on vacation you prepare yourself for that one or two meals where everyone raves about that just turned into a disaster for you? Well, Ernestina's was the one so far on our Puerto Rican vacation this April. In my 5-some years of Yelping, I haven't given many places a 1-star because I realize... More

Following CCJudy's comments I ordered fried red snapper. It's the first time I've had red snapper and I think this has set a standard for me that will be hard to match. It was moist, flavorful and well seasoned. Husband had grouper with salsa that beat all the others he has tried in PR. Red Sangria is light and fresh... More

We had heard wonderful things about Ernestina's and had tried to go during the week for dinner, but they only open for dinner on Friday and Saturday. Oh, my!! Wonderful experience. My husband had the whole red snapper (his very favorite) and proclaimed it was the best one he has had in Puerto Rico. I had fried shrimp wrapped in... More

We were a group of seven and felt at home at ernestinas. The food was delish! Great mofongo w shrimp and octopus in garlic sauce. Grouper was great and my kids had skirt steak. Such nice friendly service. We will definitely be back.

This place keeps the tradition of great food from the old Victor's Place. The owner Antonio ( Papulín) Vega and Rafa will cook the greates shrimp and Lobster salad and the famous tostones. The tradition of good Puertorrican cooking is manifested in this cozy restaurant. Every time I visit Luquillo I make sure I go to Ernestina's. Nelson R.

My husband and I enjoyed lunch there during the week. I had the grouper breaded with rice and beans and my husband had the chicken in garlic butter with plantains. Both dishes were awesome. My husband's chicken had the best flavor and my grouper tasted so fresh. The service was fantastic and quick. I even liked the artwork on the... More
