The tradition and the name are not reflected any more in the quality of the food nor in the decor. I really was hoping that they had improved, but not the case. Food maybe average in some cases, need an urgent face lift, service not what used to be and very expensive.

Good city center restaurant. Food was average, service was good and helpful. I had the Ram, which while it may be a local specialty... don't bother. It seemed like a cheap cut of beef that had been cooked for weeks to get it tender. Sort of tasteless, but my client wanted me to try it. Wouldnt have it again. Good... More

This restaurant has been around for years and reminds me of formal restaurants I may have gone to with my grandparents when I was a kid. The waiters are all male and dressed in formal attire. They have a dessert cart that they wheel to your table. The menu is a mix of steaks, seafood, and Chinese. The prices are... More

The food and service at Pez Dorado is clearly above average. Over the past few years I have dined there more than a dozen times and there have been very few hiccups. The cuisine is ostensibly meat, fish and Chinese. There is a well stocked bar and the wine list has a good selection in all price ranges. The decor... More

It has been a classic for many years. People will go to the place because food was almost the same always. Unfortunately, it has changed and for the worst. Food is at most average, extremely expensive and poor decor. I used to visit this restaurant every time I would travel to Santiago, but not any more. It is not worth... More

Upscale restaurant (decor is a bit dark, but classy) in downtown Santiago. Our family ordered the baked fish, fried fish and a bowl of pasta (no appetizers). Portions were huge and the food was delicious. The service was very nice -- two very attentive waiters. One called a taxi for us when we were ready to leave. We will definitely... More

a friend of ours organized a special " degustation" menu...8 different dishes plus desserts. From lobster to wild boar meat, from king crab to salad of sea weed, the food was fantastic!!! We had a table set in an alcove away from the rest of the restaurant, surrounded by wine bottles, a perfect setting, indeed. The wine list was extensive,... More

Would liked to have tried many items on the menu, settled on what we could afford. Would most likely not return.

This was my second time dining at Pez Dorado. It was wonderful the first time and even better the second time. Food was great and the service was excellent.

To start there are not many good restaurants in Santiago. El Pez Dorado has seen 3 generations of Dominicans and visitors eating on it. As matter of fact I asked my Maitre D and he told me he has been there for 30 years. Best chinese bread in DR(ask it fresh) and one of the best cantonese food in a... More
